Good Hotel with a Great location

generally speaking. hotels in hong kong are quite expensive. the wharney was lower priced compared to other hotels of its type (even lower priced to hotels that were not as good as the wharney - just like in the case of my colleague's hotel called the wifi boutique hotel). the rooms were clean and the service was great. my main reason for staying at the wharney was that i had an expo to attend at the hkcec and the wharney was only a 10 minute walk to the hkcec. there were nice bars and restaurants very close by too. if in case you had to go around hk, the mtr station was also just a few minutes walk away.
only problem i had with the wharney was the "technique" required to flush the toilet. you would have to press the plunger once, wait for about 1 to 2 minutes and then press the plunger again so that it would flush. sometimes, this won't work and you will have to press the plunger a few more times or call housekeeping to help.

Location, close to some good restaurants and nightlife.

Condition of hotel was below my expectation even though I had already tone down my expectation. Room was quite rundown and in need of a major refurbishment although cleanliness is still acceptable.

This hotel is older yet very well located for both the Business Traveller and those who like to enjoy the nightlife. There is a train station close by and the option of a tram should you like to venture out. You can even walk easily to the Hong Kong Convention Centre. Within the hotel there are fantastic food choices and a unique little bar which you should visit. The rooms themselves are older but comfortable.

This hotel is near the busiest restaurant and bar area and also close to all the shopping areas of HongKong.
The staff are friendly and efficient and there is free wifi for the business traveller.

Close to everything we needed, staff were helpful, liked that we could get a taxi when we needed one at the front door. Great food selection for breakfast. Good value for money. Only criticism was there was no shampoo provided.

A satisfactory stay but nothing to shout about. The location is good except for the proximity to the pubs in the next block. Some of them seem more sleezy than others. The noise from the pub crowd persisted pass midnight thought we were at the 7th floor. The Manchester derby match that weekend did not help. It was almost like sleeping in the stadium.
