Clean, affordable internet prices, decent sized room for a standard room
TV channels were a bit limited
Would definately stay here again, staff were kind and helpful, it's in a great location in Wan Chai. Rooms were very clean and was a good size compared to other Wan Chai hotels. Did not try the breakfast buffet or check out the bar there since there were so many other options just outside the hotel.

Very central, near all transport and many activities in the area.
As many hotels in Hong Kong, room is a little small but its not a problem.
This hotel is very well located, its rooms are fairly new, and the bathrooms although a little small are very modern. The deluxe room include continental breakfast. The staff are very friendly and at the time of my stay had a "smile" campaign on. The value for money is good. I will most definitely stay here again
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : This area comes alive at night

Clean, spacious, good location
It would be nice if they can offer a free bottle of water on your date of arrival!!
This hotel is very clean and the staff are very pleasant. Being a 3-4 Star hotel, it really worths your money. Good and convenient location, there are restaurants, fast food, grocery store, banks around you. It's only a minute's walk to the metro station. I am very satisfied.

Prime location. Affordable and hotel is very clean. Good affortable business or travel hotel
Executive loungue on 19th floor was a joke, Can get drunks milling around outside but this comes with the locatoin.
I was attending a conference in Hong Kong and found this gem of a hotel downtown. Location is very convenient to the convention center and many choices for meals afterwards.
Upon arriving at the HK Airport you take the Express Train to Central HK. There are free shuttle buses to the hotel (L2 bus if I remember) which make it very convenient.
I stayed in an upgraded room giving me access to a lounge area on the 19th Floor with continental breakfast. First off, the rooms are comfortable having king size beds and a nice size for Hong Kong. They did not feel small which can be a problem in HK. The room had Internet (for a fee $120 HK/day) that worked well.
The advertised lounge on the 19th floor was a joke. It was a small room 4 tables, a computer to use internet and some small food items left out. The 'lounge' looked like an afterthought in that they had an extra hotel room or storage room and they modified to serve as a lounge. Not worth the upgrade for th lounge. Do the upgrade for the room but not for the lounge access.
Hotel is smack middle in the middle of the Wan Chai entertainment district, so you can expect a lot of people milling about going from bar to bar at night.
I would recommend this hotel to people. My first choice would be the Eaton Hotel (half block away) and then the Wharney Guang Dong Hotel. Eaton Hotel had a little nicer rooms.
Travel tip : also look at the Easton Hotel. Rooms are a little nicer and it is about half a block distance for approximately the same rate.

price is ok, relatively good location - near the red light district
room features are a bit old - tv is still old
hotel is in good location - good for people who want to go out in HK's red light district. Price is affordable and there's a direct bus to the airport express. A bunch of food stalls outside. Room ammenities could be improved.

very low standard. Bathroom growing mould in tiles.
I would not stay here again due to the fact that the bathroom was so bad. It was growing mold in the tiles. In fact the room had no toilet paper.
The bed room was fine and the room was quiet. I found the staff customer service was average.
Shopping Tip : One street back all banks and shopping. Take water in your bag.

Centrally located.
Nice lobby area.
Rooms a little dirty.
Buffett not that good.
The hotel is centrally located in the Wanchai district. The hotel itself is not bad. I had stayed before at the Harbourview which is a notch above Wharney but it's also about $20 more per night so Wharney is a better value. The rooms are quite small (but this is Hong Kong) but if all you need is a place to sleep and shower and be in an area close to public transportation and nightlife then it's tough to beat Wharney. I tried their breakfast buffett but it wasn't as good as Harbourview's and would not go again.
Restaurant Tip : If you don't want to pay the ripoff prices for using the internet in your room then walk down to the Pacific Roast Coffee (Starbucks like place), buy yourself a pastry or coffee and use their internet for free.

Location is fairly close to MTR. Within walking distance to shopping areas.
Staff is not very friendly. The trainee at the reception who served me barely smiled. Carpet was not thoroughly vacuumed.
I made a mistake in the date of the reservation so when I checked in the staff could not find my name. She asked me to call the booking agent, Agoda, which I did, and the guy who attended my call assisted me in amending the date so I could check-in the hotel in about 20 minutes. I really appreciated the way Agoda has handled my reservation. Regarding my stay at Wharney Guang Dong, I have to say it was only average due to the not too warm staff and the wear-and-tear of the interior of the rooms.
Shopping Tip : There are shopping areas nearby, or you can take public transport to Causeway Bay where there are many stalls and shopping malls.

Worth the price to stay at the hotel, clean and with location conveniently accessible by MTR and by Airport Shuttle.
The hotel is surrounded by pubs and nightclubs thus not that suitable for families or single woman.
The area is not family friendly with many nightclubs located in the area. Our hotel room was on a very low floor and customers attending a pub across the road could easily look into the hotel room. Privacy could only be achieved if all curtains are properly drawn. Overall hotel is clean and for the price, the hotel is still worth a stay if you are travelling with friends and need a place just to bathe and sleep.
