The room was small but comfortable with good facilities and a great view. The service was excellent especially the concierge. Reception staff was very helpful and polite. Th e hotel location, however was some distance from the city centre although taxis are easily available as common in Hong Kong. The tram service is also within short walking distance.

Great rooms but location not ideal

the rooms are spacious, clean and depending on the room type, the one i stay comes with harbor view. it is fantastic when one wakes up in the morning or any other time, to enjoy the scenery.
the reception has friendly staffs & there is free shuttle bus service to take you to certain iconic locations because there is no nearby mtr in the vicinity. although there is tram and bus service which is quite helpful if one knows how to take it.
the only set-back is that it is located in the hongkong island end and nearest mtr would be central. however, one can take the tram service which cost only per trip or take a taxi which would cost about and the taxi can take up to 5 persons.
it would be great for business stay as most offices are located at the admiralty station which is very near to central mtr. however, for us, which like to do shopping, at kowloon side, then it would not be ideal to choose this hotel stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Must visit The Peak, Ocean Park & Disney Land.

lovely hotel and service with a smile

I arrived HK in Friday evening. It is difficult to find a taxi at that time. Actually the hotel has shuttle bus in downtown to pick up the guests. But I don't know it. It took me a lot of time from central to the hotel. If the notice about shuttle bus can be sent to the guest in advance or with reservation, it will be more help. The hotel is clean and comfort to business trip.

Fitting of Shangri-la's Five Star reputation

Though quaint, the modern-styled guest rooms are very clean and comfortable. The amenities in the room are complete, while the hotel staff are by far one of the most courteous and initiative team I've ever encountered!
The location is rather far out in Western Hong Kong, but nevertheless, the transportation system in Hong Kong is undoubtedly convenient. There is no train station (MTR) nearby but tram stops are right by the street corner. Taxis are also fast and relatively cheaper than most countries. The famous pubs in Lan Kwai Fong is only a few minutes away as well!
By taxi:
To Kowloon (15mins) -- ~HKD80 (Inclusive of over-the-ocean toll fare of ~HKD45)
To Central (CBD) (10 mins) -- ~HKD60
To Airport (30 mins) -- ~HKD350
In addition, there are also free hourly shuttles to Sheung Huan (CBD) and shuttle to the airport (HKD150/ person).
Hotel Feature Tip:
Opt for the Traders Club rooms, which can be of the same price as standard rooms through hotel-booking sites such as Agoda. It includes facilities such as free continental breakfast, free pressing of one suit, and free polishing of shoes. The mountain view rooms and the sea view rooms do not make much of a difference in my opinion. There's no need to pay more for a sea view room.

The rooms were new and modern, but a bit small. Lots of facilities in the room, including an iron board and shoes polish.
The fitness room is open 24 hours and if you do not travel in winter there is also an open door swimming pool on the last floor.

Very close to Central but very peaceful

hotel is quite nice and the decorations are updated. it is very close to central but feels like you are miles away from the hustle and bustle. staff is nice and very helpful. right outside the hotel are numerous chinese restaurants, a mc donald's and several convenience store. the surroundings is nice for a morning walk. you might chance upon a lot of cheap good buys from the stores around. no mtr so you would need to take the tram or a taxi going to central. the hotel however has free shuttle service the the whole day that can take you to macau ferry, and central station. there's free wifi internet in the room which is a big plus. for a peaceful vacation in hong kong, i would definitely stay in this hotel again.
