Good location, Friendly atmosphere, Clean room The smell of chlorine in the lobby, Room is not prepared quickly My stay in YMCA Salisbury in Hong Kong can be summed up to be pleasant. Unfortunately before we even got into our room there were already some issues. The 1st thing that I smelled when I got to the lobby is chlorine. It was kinda strong and it made me feel like I was in the swimming area. Another thing that made me worry was that our room was given to us quite long. We arrived there around 1130 and they gave us our room around 130 even if we have already made reservations.
Anyway those were the only things that needs to be improved. The stay in the room was good. It had fruits ready, extra pillow and an extra blanket. The staff was also friendly enough to give us extra towels and shampoo an hour before we checked out.
The location of YMCA is very convenient. It is near the harbor and close to the MRT station. Peninsula Hong Kong is just across the street. You don't have to worry about going to central to buy LV and Gucci. It is right next door.
Shopping Tip : They have a Christian book store in their lobby. So if you need some Chinese Christian books its right down there.

excellent location. All the facilities you could ask for. Next to the famous peninsula. Better facilities than hotel that |stayed in in london that was twice the price and the staff at the YMCA were more helpful. Comfy Beds

Semi-harbor view room offered great view onto HK island skyline
family friendly It was the first time I stayed in a YMCA hotel.
Pleasant surprise, if you do not mind all the YMCA related activities going on around you, while in the lobby / facilities.
It is a no-frills operation, no fancy stuff, purely focused on functionality. For example, the lobby floor cafe / restraurant is a self service canteen. But all is clean, well organized, friebdly staff, etc. If you do not need 5-star luxury but are looking for value for money, this is a good hotel.
Hotel Feature Tip : the taxi access is currently more complicated due to roadside construction work. Less taxies seem to find their way inside. If you need a taxi, make sure you ask the concierge to flag one down.

The hotel is very clean and accessible to shops, eateries, sites and MTR My wife and I loved our stay at the YMCA Salisbury Hotel. It is very clean and well-lighted. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is conveniently located near MTR stations and accessible to the free shuttle of Airport Express. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants around the area. Also, the Hongkong harbour from where we saw the symphony of lights is just across the street. We are recommending this hotel to family and friends and would definitely stay here again on our next visit.
Travel tip : The Airport Express free shuttle stops across the side entrance of the hotel in Hankow Street... a very convenient way to travel to and from the airport.

The hotel is in the center of the shopping and tourist area. Service was great. The room we got had a partial view of the harbour-it was a wonderful scene; the room was accomodating w/ our needs. The YMCA is only a couple blocks from the star ferry.
I would rate it as a 3.5 star. Very cold in the room.
We turn off the aircondition every time we are in. Hotel Feature Tip : The service is fast and efficent.

The hotel had an amazing location and was a great value. The restaurant could use some improvement. The YMCA was a great hotel with a perfect location. The rooms are nice and clean. The hotel provides very nice sheets and blankets. The partial harbor view room was worth the extra view dollars because the view was amazing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for reasonably priced accomodations in the best location. Don't hesitate with choosing this hotel.

- Opposite is Esprit Outlet & Others shops,as well. Everytime I visit HK, the first choice is YMCA because it is cheap and convenient. There are 2 YMCA located in HK. I have stayed both before and I personally think YMCA Salisbury is the best location. I will definitely visit YMCA Salisbury, again.

i give this hotel a 3.5 out of 5 stars. the rooms are clean, attentive staff, near the underground station, near the shopping district. the only thing i found odd is the bathroom. you couldn't move inside the shower because of the small space.

Good location, near TST MTR station, easy to get to the hotel from Kowloon station (if take airport express to kowloon) by bus, near shopping area If you like hard mattress this is the place. The mattress was a bit too hard for my liking. The hotel service was excellent. It is a good place to stay if you are a true shopaholic. Near shopping district (new world shopping mall, esprit outlet) and is near the TST MTR station so it is easy to go anywhere. The rooms are clean and bigger than expected. Also it is easy to get here from the airport as well.
Shopping Tip : There is Esprit outlet nearby. Also explore the TST area as there are alot of nice small boutiques

3. room was better than expected 1. reception smells like bleach this was more than what we expected for our limited budget. really great location, a block away from the nearest MTR station, opposite starbucks, sheraton hotel(which has all the branded names' boutique there), the rooms are clean and good. i strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who comes to hk on a budget!
Shopping Tip : there's the harbour city nearby and a lot of bargain shops around the area.

Staff very helpful! Rooms are clean! View is great from harbor view room. My family and I stayed there for 4 days. We loved it! We had harbor view room. We were very happy with the view from our room. We will stay there again if we go to Hong Kong again.

The location, the high standard service level, helpful staff I've spent 4 nights at the hotel and it felt like home.The housekeeping staff ensured the cleanliness and tidiness of the room when we returned to the hotel at night.The room is spacious and its high floor gave us a partial harbour view which is amazing especially at night. Kudos to staff of YMCA Salisbury.
Nightlife Tip : The MTR is within 5 mins and easily accessible

The price was a little high, needs some promotion program. Very good location for everything you need. The staff at the counter are very helpful with your questions. They speak very fluent English although you cannot see the smilling face of some staff. Don't miss asking them every question, and you will be very satisfied with the answer. For example, I asked her for the excellent restaurant for Dim-sum,d elicious and not expensive one for our family. She pointed us Peking-One building,we are very happy for the quality and price.

Location and Value for money In house dining facilities limited A clean and pleasant hotel in an outstanding location right next to the ferry terminal and Peninsular Hotel. Don't let the name put you off. The rooms are a bargain and it is worth paying the extra for the harbour view as you get a front row seat for the nightly light show. The in house breakfast is average but reasonable value. However this is Hong Kong so you can just walk to several nearby restaurants or Starbucks.Highly recommended
