It's not a hotel, it's a hospital

it's a hospital with a few extra rooms
the room was fine (we reviewed it)
the pool was dirty (we saw it from our tour)
it's 50km from aleppey
if you are looking for treatment this place might be a good stop. as travelers looking to be in the city it wasn't the place for us. we reviewed the room and decided to stay elsewhere closer to the city (we abandoned our single night booking)

Tranquil setting but not a hotel

First and foremost this is not a hotel, it is an Ayurvedic hospital and should be booked as such. The staff were particularly friendly although at times were quite untrusive with constant visits to our room. The room was a good size and quite comfortable however during the 4 nights we stayed there, we did not have hot water.
The food options, though delicious and reasonably priced, are very limited and the timings of the meals, particularly dinner (5.45-6.30) are quite regimented.
As for the Ayurvedic treatments, we had to see a doctor prior to our 'rejuvenation' massage, which all seemed a little OTT. Both my wife and I both had similar experiences with the treatment, we had numerous people walk through the treatment room while we were all but naked, and in my case, there were also women in the next room who were laughing and chatting away. All of this did not make for the relaxing experience we were hoping for.
We complained to the doctors about the treatment and they said they would take our comments on board.
Come here if you need prolonged treatment as this is what the hospital is geared up for, do not go here thinking its a spa.
It's location is 35km from Alleppey and so not convenient for the sights.

Not a Spa Resort

It was not the spa resort i expected. It is in fact an Ayurveda hospital. It has nice Ayurveda treatments but I was expecting a Spa Resort. There are no restaurants in the area and the canteen closes at 6:30 pm. That means either a very early dinner or no dinner. Also the place is 35 to 40 km away from Alleppey and the travel is very expensive.
