Nice lobby.
Good service.
Complimentary station pick up.
Room decor somewhat dated.
Not very close to city centre.
Misleading information.
The hotel is conveniently situate close to Amritsar Railway Station and whilst the free hotel pick-up was appreciated, it was not optimal as we (2 of us)had to squeeze into an SUV with 3 other guests also being collected at the same time!
The hotel lobby and facade is modern but the rooms are quite dated in terms of decor. Our Legacy Club (ie. standard) room was spacious and clean but could have done with a lick of paint and new furniture. The bathroom, again, was clean but deperately needed a new bathtub and mirror.
It was nice to have a smart LCD tv and mini-fridge but an in-room dafe would have been much appreciated.
Breakfast was acceptable albeit limited in variety, although this is something that seems widespread amongst Indian hotels.
The hotel's own webpage and literature is not quite correct in respect of available facilities, there being no 24 hour coffee shop or ice-cream parlour, as I found out when craving ice-cream at around midnight!
The hotel is not located very centrally and the main attractions of Amritsar such as Sri Harmandir Sahib (the'Golden Temple')are a little distance away. Also, the hotel may want to take a leaf out of the books of most hotels and have some type of tourist information/area map available.
Service received from the staff was good and everyone was friendly. Check-in was prompt and efficient.
Overall, the hotel is at an acceptable 3 star standard and competitively priced for the Amritsar hotel market, which surprisingly appears to be more expensive than much of the rest of India, including Delhi. However, I will probably try somewhere different on the next visit.
