Hotel is not well maintained.
Staff try to do their best in effort to give best service, but the hotel lacks maintenance.

Lets say the hotel wasn't comfortable, the room has a smell from rotten parkay on the floor infested with small cockroaches . The ceilings cracked, the toilets out dated on fittings and cracked separated walls, hot water waslike a mmystery, you can never know what you are expecting under the shower. Lobby carpet was cleaned by traditional choolas (it seems no vacuum cleaner) my room was filled with the dust from the carpet ans since then I am having cough. The lift is so old. Hotel entrance is on the side of the restaurant which makes us think that this hotels is a side business of the restaurant that isn't cared for well.

The room was very clean by Indian standards. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located close to the shopping area and the main bus terminal.

The hotel is located near several Shopping Mall, Metro Station, Pubs & Bars, Supermarkets, Restaurants, Cinema Halls, Electronics Malls, etc. So, I remained busy in the shopping area throughout my stay.

Good for an Indian budget hotel

Empire has 2 locations - check which one you're booked into. One is in the heart of it all, the other is a 10 minute walk away. We ended up at the latter unwittingly. It was a decent old building with big rooms but the front ones are noisy due to being by an intersection, in an interesting area. Popular local restaurant attached to hotel.

Nice hotel, nice staff but trouble booking a cab

We got there late in the nighta nd everything went smooth. The room was small but just what we expected for this kind of money. The A/C was very old and only had a on/off-swith and turning it on made the room quickly very cold. Since it wasn´t very warm we didn´t need to use it.
We had a good night sleep and when we checked out we asked the staff to book a cab for us to the train station at 6pm, 6 hours in advance. We asked them again later that day if everything was ok with the cab and they said it was no problem.
At 6 there was no cab, and after waiting 20 minutes with the staff telling us it will be here in 5 they said the taxi won´t come. We asked if they could call another one and he said "i don´t know, maybe" and went back into the hotel".
We then took a tuktuk which we managed to squeeze our big bags into so we got to the station in time.
So, nice hotel but not to reliable when it comes to arranging a cab.
Restaurant Tip:
We we´re only in Bangalore for one day but we tried the Indian Coffee House everybody´s been talking about and it was really great. It was like going back into time.
