I would stay here again

It was comfortable stay, after a hard day of work travelling in the busy traffic for business, it is important to have a restful stay and this hotel provides it. It is located just opposite Leela Palace Hotel. I like the nice touch of the Matthan hotel giving complimentary gourmet chocolates and fresh fruits in the room upon check in. The only issue was the arranged airport transfer wasn't at the airport when I touched down, after two calls to the hotel, this was resolved.

Unconventional hotel
They's give you plenty of bottled drinking water for drinking and brushing teeth

The hotel internal is cave like, very dark and dimly lit. The decor inside and outside of the hotel is like you've just stepped into the Indiana Jones Temple of Doom or an adventure theme park ride, very unconventional. Have never found another hotel like the Matthan to compare to. It is not quite the 4/5 star rating advertised. I have stayed at a better hotel that is 4/5 star rated, the Matthan is DEFINATELY NOT a 4/5 star. I would only rate the hotel a 3 star at best. The hotel internal is poorly lit, perhaps in the attempt to save money on electricity usage from poorly designed and build hotel building. The bathroom shower wall area is not even tiled. The bathroom sink keeps blocking up and the sink water does not run out quickly. Quality of the workmanship in the hotel is very poor. The AC in my room seems to work well.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Ask for a mosquito repellent from the front desk and use it in your room and bring with you when you go downstairs to the restaurant for dinner/meal. There is lots of mosquito in the hotel. Bangalore is a very dirty and polluted city by any standard, only go out to the street if absolutely required, otherwise stay in the room/hotel. Pollution in Bangalore will overwhelm all your sensors (sight, smell and hearing).

Good location and fair service with a smile

During my two nights stay, staffs are very friendly and helpful. Even when I asked for my friend's pick up at the airport mid night, they moved quickly and reported the status timely. The room is not a gorgeous one but very reasonable size and clean. I will stay again at this hotel.

room is clean, free PC use in the room and I liked
this hotel. I would use this hotel again.
Their buffet breakfast includes indian dishes
as well as western dishes such as omlets, bacons,
sausages, and variety of breads.

Matthan is conveniently located on Old Airport Road bang opposite Leela Palace
The property is decorated in Indonesian style and that's the first thing that strikes you as you enter.
The checkin was smooth and the concerige was a very friendly and took pains to explain all the facilities of the hotel
I would expect more variety for the breakfast and a little more warm food. The cafteria staff at 20char was very nice and followed the motto service with a smile to the T.
All in all, good place to spend couple of nights and worth the money

try to opt for a front facing room of you are looking for a room with a view as most other rooms have windows facing other huge buildings in the area
