Business travelers India, December 02, 2012	Adequate budget business hotel with good food Excellent food 8.3 This hotel is located on the main Bhubaneshwar Cuttack highway close to many other big hotels and has good parking space and within a short drive from airport. There is always a auto and cab standing by for on the spot transport. It is a busy hotel and seems to be used by business travellers as well as by marriage party who have their function in nearby big hotels but stay in Ginger. So in marriage season like when I travelled, it can be a quite noisy at night as party goers return. Sounds of bands and crackers also tend to filter in from the marriage functions. There is a big park at the back, adjacent to which is the kitchen side of the big hotel where the marriage parties are held, so banging sounds from pots and pans can also disturb your night rest. Food is cheap and of good quality in a buffet costing 300 bucks or al-a-carte for even less - very tasty with reasonable variety - some 6-8 items. Cafe Coffee day is attached. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good. Rooms are a OK - linen is clean but doors and walls have some grime - tolerable. Toilet, hand shower, washbasin, clean towels, shower with curtain, bathmat, liquid soaps in dispensers make the bathroom very good for a budget hotel. I stayed in a single room with single bed. Spring mattress is little soft for Indians used to coir mattress, but OK for foreigners. TV is good with Tata sky running NDTV, Profit and Headlines today - rest news channels not subscribed. Star world, Z English and movies are available. Rooms are cleaned well and room service is available. All in all, this is excellent value for money and one can easily stay with family also since food is very good and room rent is dirt cheap. For this price, one should not expect more. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Well positioned for Nandankanan zoo - Just a half hour away by rickshaw.In Winter, go in the afternoon around 3PM, take a guide for 100 bucks for 1.5 hours, good collection of animals, take a half hour boat ride at 4.30 before the zoo closes at 5.

Couples United States of America, November 19, 2012	Clean, modern, and efficient hotel Good value 9 If you're looking for a clean and comfortable room in a typically frenetic Indian city, this is a good choice. Nothing fancy, just good clean rooms, good bathrooms, quiet AC's, comfy beds, quiet rooms, efficient and helpful staff. The main downside is the location, quite isolated from the center of town and the main sights (the temples). There was always an auto rickshaw (tuk-tuk) waiting outside the hotel for budget travel around town if desired. Also, the dining area is more like a cafe than a dining room, with buffet style meals and a small cafe next to it. Breakfast offerings were both Western and Indian. Again, nothing fancy, but perfectly adequate, with helpful staff getting coffee or tea, cooked eggs, etc. Restaurant Tip: Want to eat (dine) at a nice upscale restaurant? There are 3 in the posh Swosti hotel next to the Ginger. Or, have a craving for standard Western fare? A short walk north past the Swosti gets you to a Subway, a Dominoes pizza, and a couple others. (Didn't try the pizza, but Subway was ok)
Nicholas B. Couples United Kingdom, October 20, 2012	wysiwyg Clean 6.3 Bland hotel but rooms clean and spacious. The staff at reception were offhand, one to the point of rudeness. I think some training is needed here. Asked for quote on car hire - never got one. Food was good but breakfast was expensive.
