Pretty ordinary experience, staff not impressive
5.7
Food was below standard and expensive, staff were not very helpful, needed to ask for toilet paper, lift wasn't working, high surcharge on taxis.

Beautiful surroundings and comfortable stay.
Location, friendly staff, clean and tidy
9.3
The best part about this hotel was that it had a great location. The staff was professional and friendly. The rooms were comfortable and had spectacular views from their windows. In totality it was a pleasant stay for me and my friends as we all had a great time.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
There are lot of attractions to visit around the place. The classic old train (the first in Asia) existed in Darjeeling. There are many other things to learn about the place, its people and their culture.

Decent hotel with good service but terrible food
Location was very good - about a 10-15 minute walk to the Darjeeling Mall area
5.7
Overall, the hotel room was just alright considering the price charged. The room had one small space heater, which was not sufficient to heat the room considering the frigid weather outside. The service was as expected and the management was helpful in making car reservations to visit Tiger Hill. One major drawback was that the food quality was extremely subpar and disappointing. The charge for the dinner buffet was ~Rs. per head and the food was not only distasteful but also cold. In fact, it seemed that no one in the restaurant actually finished a whole plate of food - more food was thrown away than was consumed.
Restaurant Tip:
Do not dine at the hotel restaurant unless your meal is already included in the room rate; even then, you may want to consider eating elsewhere. For vegetarian food, try the Frank Ross restaurant in the Darjeeling Mall area (about 10-15 minute walk away).

No Heat
I liked the massage chair down in the gym and it is a short walk into town.
6.7
It was cold in Darjeeling and I was given a space heater that threw heat about one foot, unfortunately the plug was on the other side of the room so the heater was 6 feet away from where I needed it to be, near the bed. The stall is very tiny and its difficult to shower, you need to be a gymnast in order to shave your legs in there. Room was a nice size with typical hotel furniture. Enjoyed the view from the 4th floor room window on clear days.
Travel tip:
Had a lovely pot of tea with cookies at the Elgin which is a heritage property just down the hill. Felt like I was in England, don't bother with the full afternoon tea, they don't have the sandwiches or scones with clotted cream down at all.

Best hotel in Darjeeling!
Great customer service, extremely helpful and friendly staff and nice quiet location.

absolutely loved staying here after an awful few days in varanasi topped off by an horrendous train journey to darjeeling. the pre-arranged pick up from njp was still there considering our train was 3 hours late. the hotel is absolutely lovely and as nice as it looks online. the staff were great, every single one of them, no request was an issue. the restaurant serves great breakfast and dinner. the room was spacious with a comfortable and warm bed. we actually stayed an extra night and would definitely stay here again.
the shower was a bit small and would have liked a sauna but apart from that, top marks!

Decent hotel but definitely not worth the price
Neat and clean, reasonably centrally located

We stayed only for one night and the room was comfortable. The reception staff were frank, nice and eager to help, however were unable to make travel arrangements including vehicle and early breakfast, for our departure despite several reminders. The situation was then nicely handled by the hotel manager who personally ensured that all arrangements were made.
The hotel restaurant operates for very limited hours during lunch and dinner only (with no room service possible outside of these hours), which is quite strange for a 4 star hotel and definitely inconvenient for us. The buffet dinner was good but prohibitively expensive.
The hotel lobby and rooms are quite small and functional, but very nicely done up. The main issues were that room fittings are of very poor quality and in a bad shape. The TV and set-top box connection was made in such a way that electric sparking was happening due to loose contact, the shower fitting was broken (unhinged from the wall) and the soap dish (flat glass plate) came loose from the supports; luckily no one was injured.
So overall while the stay was ok, the hotel is definitely not worth the high price.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Take local city taxi which is available at 10 mins walking distance from hotel, instead of asking the hotel to arrange transportation - the hotel front desk staff themselves suggested to us quite candidly.

I was thoroughly disappointed with the service and the attitude of the hotel staff, manager as well as owner.
This hotel should get the Razzies for the worst service ever! Hotel looks good but the goodness ends there! We were served lunch after 2 hours of ordering and still didn't get what we wanted!
There is no view in ANY of the rooms. We booked 3 rooms and 1 of the rooms had a diagonal wall and hence was very cramped. An extra bed could not have been accommodated there but they insisted on it. When I asked them to change the room the owner (Dinesh) promised me to do so but never did.
We lost a watch in one of the 3 rooms that we booked - and housekeeping didn't find it!
The showerhead fell on my head while taking a shower!
And in the final bill they added some other room's bill to our bill!
The Manager as well as the owner was least interested in our problems and I saw at least 2 other guest upset about some or the other services during my 2 day stay!
After paying upfront we expected better service as well as rooms. It spoilt the entire mood of our holiday. This wasn't my version of a pleasant & comfortable stay
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Don't miss the Ropeway for anything!

Good hotel at a lovely location
Right at the best location of darjeeling "The Mall", well maintained rooms and good ambiance
7
I had been to Darjeeling on my honeymoon and we stayed in RJ resort.
1. Good place to stay. Only few rooms available with good rooms
2.Bathing space very small but the bath room is reasonably large.
3.Dinner buffet is way over priced for the given spread.
4.The hotel is situated right next to the Mall making its location probably one of the best in Darjeeling.
5. Hospitality quotient needs to be improved a bit however but the Hotel manager pays personal attention to every guest.
Overall a nice place to stay would definitely recommend.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Beware of touts and agents who OVERCHarge for local sight seeing. The 10points or 8 points trips are not all that great since all the points are within a radius of 5 Kms. And besides most of the points like tenzing rock or peace pagoda are not all that interesting. I guess the only best places in Darjeeling are , Walk around the Mall in the early mornings, Tea gardens, The ropeway, The Zoo and ofcourse Tiger hills.

except for wet area in bathroom, which was too small and tea kit should be per person and not one per room, as we have to pay for xtra bed. otherwise all excellent with very good staff with smile and helping and courteous in nature. i dont remember name in particular but front desk / reception person was very co-operative and helpful
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
good for sightseeing and shopping
