Varca Palms Beach Resort, Goa

This hotel lived up to most of our expectations for a quiet rest. The beach was great for long morning and evening walks. The strong sea breeze was cooling in the heat of the day (early April so hot by Western standards) and the room air conditioning worked well for an after lunch siesta time. Staff were friendly and eager to please, particularly in the restaurant. The one disappointment was the food. After having enjoyed inexpensive and tasty Goan food in Panaji we had hoped our time at the Varca beach would be an equally rewarding culinary experience. It wasn't. The menu was included Western, Indian and Goan but the western choices were poor. The Indian and Goan food was tasty but nothing special, and often when we asked for the more interesting items they were "not available".

Много птиц, бабочек, бурудндуков и ящерок.По соседству на пляже хорошие рестораны. В соседних (10 минут по пляжу) отелях шумно и много народу, но там дают уроки йоги и хороший массаж. Varca Palms для предпочитающих уединие, вдали от шума города.

we stayed two nights after having stayed in north goa. this was a nice reprieve from the bustle and people packed beaches of north goa. it was a nice hotel, clean and appointed nicely. the food was great, and the clean quiet beach was great for morning jogs and watching the sunset at night. but, i must say the hotel staff was not as good as the food service staff. the front desk was not attentive to helping with phone issues, room service issues and upon checking out, would not let me take my bill up to the room to review in peace.
