Overlooking the fortress of Jaisalmer is a six acre boutique hotel that is an excellent example of the historical grandeur of Rajasthan. This property was designed by famous opera set designer, Ms. Stephanie Engeln and was the dream of two locals who sought to rediscover and restore the arts of the region. The high ceilings and mix of colonial architecture and classical Rajasthani architecture makes for remarkable interiors and gardens. Guests will enjoy feasting their eyes on Fort Rajwada with its original balconies and intricate carvings and jalis which are about 450 years old. Guests staying here will never forget enjoying a meal or a few drinks or waking up and walking to the balcony to see the amazing fortress just outside their fantastic hotel.

Beautiful common spaces and pool. Good and reasonably priced spa treatments
Rooms need to be updated, expensive food and drinks. Extremely difficult and at times inhospitable management.
We were excited to stay at fort rajwada after a long few days in the desert but were unfortunately left extremely disappointed in the service - so much so that we were anxious to leave after less than 24 hours on premises. Management needs a lesson in hospitality. There were countless issues but to highlight a few: in a v low season environment, the front desk was entirely inflexible in extended the checkout time (said we should have given more notice - bit we'd asked concurrently with checking in); we spent $300 on top of the room rate on food/drinks/spa but were hassled no fewer than 4 times about a $1 bottle of water that supposedly wasn't charged on a dinner bill. When we ultimately went back through receipts, they had incorrectly added a bottle on. Many other issues (incorrect dishes served and major hesitation to correct mistakes). In all, the bones of the building are beautiful and the place has tremendous potential but it ranks towards the very bottom of places we've stayed during our 3 month travels bc of service issues.

clean, new, efficient and friendly staff, very good breakfast
far from the fort (10 minutes with the tuk tuk)
New place, with great swimming pool. Very good breakfast. Nice cocktail bar. Rooms are also new, very clean. Nice bathroom and good bed. Staff is very efficient and friendly. A very good option to stay outside Jaisalmer.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Do not visit the city palace - it is not worth it- if you are visiting jodhpur or udaipur.
