Memorable stay.Able to get answers for all my questions from the staff. A wide variety of food to satisfy all.Sad that the Friday was a dry day and even room service does not serve liquor. Perhaps the bar could be closed but or liquor could be served in rooms

It was a very good experience & stay.
The friendly ,attentive staff, quick response for requirements, late check-out. The scene of the back-water view from the room, the boat ride during the sunset,arranged by the hotel for free.

It was very good.Only food varieties in the breakfast& lunch are very limited , lacking more continental items. Breakfast should be included with the booking, it was very bad to advertise within the booking system that special week-end breakfast is there & then the booking voucher comes with"breakfast not included", otherwise It was a very good experience & stay.

Good option if you're after AC and a little luxury

Paid a little extra and booked an "Executive Queen Sea Vw Extended Stay Breakfast", although our room ended up being a partially sea view room with a double bed and no breakfast included. Luckily we ended up with the breakfast which was our main concern! Liked the hotel as it was easy to walk to the ferry to Fort Kochi, the main city and non-tourist shops. Staff were incredibly friendly and made sure we felt looked after. Pool is ok, but you can smell the backwaters a little.

A pleasant two night stay in a hotel that is not that modern but nevertheless provides an excellent service. Comfortable rooms and good food. I would stay there again if I was to travel to Kochi.

the gateway hotel is a business hotel, old property with basic amenities. towels and bed sheets smell oil. its located on the marine drive, next to a busy shopping area and the backwaters.the room we stayed in have grate view of the harbor. the hotel staff are friendly and polit.

Gateway belongs to the Taj chain, but this could be midleading as there is no resemblence to the famous other Taj across the water on Wellington Island. The staff was very friendly, but as it often in India the hotel was not maintaned properly and a paintbrash would not harm it.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
You can take the jetty to visit Fort Cochin, which is more interesting, if you can endure the smell coming from the sea, as the local damp everything there. Sometime it is better to take a taxi then line up for the boat.

Beautiful hotel in a brilliant location
Well appointed rooms, wonderful views, but, above all, unsurpassed service.

A first class experience from the moment of check-in until we, reluctantly, took our leave.
Our room (on the 6th floor) had an amazing view of the harbour, was well appointed and had the most comfortable bed in India!
Food was good, especially the lunch time buffets. Evening meals were accompanied by gentle live music.
It is however, the service standards of this hotel which make it not just good but exceptional. Special mention to Daisy and Francis for their ever smiling faces at the main entrance and beautiful Reemur for her interest and endless supply of bananas!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The complimentary sunset cruise is well worth taking but be prepared to wear a life-jacket!
