Basic hotel with friendly staff

This place offers comfortable no frills accomodation with a good location close to the center of town. Bathroom amenities are sparse- had to ask for extra soap, towels etc. It has a very good restaurant that served tasty fresh meals so that we did not eat out in town during our stay. The staff was excellent; typical of the mountain culture, they are very pleasant people willing to serve with a smile.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Rooms on the top floor can be a challenge especially for those that fly in to Leh- due to the high altitude, climbing 3 flights of stairs can be difficult on the first day. If you do stay on the 3rd floor, take your time climbing- there is no elevator.

Ladakh style hotel with European breakfasts
cleaned everyday, customer service was perfect - reception was helpful and service cleaned and tried to help

after we arrived to leh, as most of the tourists we felt the pressure of high altitude and we had suffered for a few days - were sleeping and unable to fast moving. the hotel privided comfortable beds and changed blankets and towels daily - it is high standard in india (we realised a three weeks later). the room we had could have been paited and renewed - a ceiling and rest room (especially bath) did not look fresh and clean.
breakfasts (we did not have lunch and dinner packeges) were in european style - toasts, eggs, jam etc... and tea or nescoffee. i loved masala tea by dragon. the hotel accepts ;arger groups - during our week stay we saw a group of bike riders from gb, a group of french and poles. usually ten - persons. a few rooms have balkonies - we probably is nice addition. we did not have. a big plus to the manager - who is helpful while ordering taxis or arranging trips.

- Palace of the King of Ladakh. The most noticeable building in Leh, the palace was built in the 17th century, and now undergoing restoration.
- Buddhist temples:
Namgyal Tsemo Gompa - above the Palace, built 1430, is only open from 7AM-9AM during the morning puja.
- Soma Gompa - just around the corner from Main Bazar, it's a large modern gompa.
- Pangong Tso A beautiful high altitude lake at 4350 meters with deep blue waters, surrounded by tall mountain peaks
- Shanti Stupa (4.3 Kms) : built by a Japanese Buddhist group. This modern stupa is somewhat kitschy, but still worth a visit.
- Magnetic Hill (26 Kms)
- Sindhu Ghat (10 kms)
