Comfortable, dependable digs in Fort area
It's well located, in a safe quiet area and has internet
7.7
I am a regular guest as I enjoy the location, appreciate the spacious and clean rooms and am glad to have a reasonable (though not always perfect) internet connection.

Faded glory with poor staff
3.7
This hotel has a grand name and little else . The rooms are big and they have renovated the bathrooms . Location is ok . However the frant office staff is poor in smiles and services .
The reception counter is shabby . Maps are are none existance ,
and the staff need a course in smiling and being more helpful and friendly to customers . Travel information is also very poor and they need to improve on it.
Internet is good however ,but the staff really have to improve themselves so that they can live up to the hotel 's grand name.
Travel agents are a short walk from the hotel for information and bookings since the hotel is very poor on this .
Overall , if you do not expect much and need nothing much from them its ok to stay , otherwise it is overrated .

If you need quiet this is it
7.3
while this place is a bit funky (it's too bad they stripped the interior of what could have been period charm), the fact that it is in a tree-lined, quiet, easy-access neighborhood makes it a great choice. i can't compare its price to other hotels, and yes, the breakfast is rather blah, but for me, quiet is the most important element and there is plenty of that. it's easy to get pretty much to any tourist site: within a 20 min walk you can be at museums, ferries, train stations, fabulous restaurants, etc.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Don't miss the Buddhist carvings in the Kanheri Caves in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. Monday is best when the busses don't run...fewer people. You can pay for a motorcycle taxi (500 rupees) to take you to the caves from the Park entrance. Skip the Jain temple. If you take the train from Victoria Terminus, be sure to change onto the western line at Dadar

Attention to detail lacking, oh and the ants
Quiet area of Bombay, but easily accessible to train station and attractions
6
the hotel is a very large open building that has been renovated. the room size was surprisingly generous; for the 3-bedroom unit there was enough room for a couch, coffee table and a desk. the two window a/c units were modern and quiet.
the choice of fluorescent lighting was suspect, for some reason they chose to use a very hot colour temperature which basked the room in a glow similar to hospitals or offices.
initially the room felt clean, at least the linens. the bathroom however was less than stellar with some bad water stains that they've given up on fixing.
the absolute worst part of this hotel were the ants however. the window to the bathroom was open by a creak and they were starting to get attracted to our presence. soon there were everywhere on the window sill and we started noticing elsewhere in the unit. luckily we had some insecticide on us, but for the following days there were the odd couple of ants roaming around we gave up on.
the hotel staff are friendly and well-meaning but not competent. two examples come to mind:
1) we noticed that our coffee mugs had some bad stains on them (enough we could scrape off with our nails). we asked the staff to clean them, and the first time around they only rinsed them off. the second time around, they did bit more of a thorough job but the sponges they used must've been old because the cups reeked of a bad smell.
2) when the toilet paper ran out in the bathroom, housekeeping did not replace it. we had to call the staff twice to replace it, and it took about a half-hour before they came back since they had no idea where the toilet paper was being stored.
while this hotel does have wifi, only one device per room is allowed to connect at a given time, which is a dumb constraint. you can get around this by logging into the portal as different room numbers.
breakfast is ok, nothing to write home about but it was sufficient. it lacked variety
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
There are NGOs that can take you on a tour of the Dharavi Slum, highly recommended.

This Hotel was okay for the money
Was close to general shopping market

this hotel was difficult for the taxi to find, but after a few stops to ask directions, he did find it. the hotel was a good value for the money. woke up early to men working and cows and dogs, but this is common for this type of hotel in india. don't know if you can avoid it unless you stay at one of the larger hotels.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Book your sightseeing in advance and use a tour guide for sure. Don't try and "wing it."

Great location
I liked the breakfast . We walked everyday from the hotel. The rooms was nice except it was right next to the lift, and twice during the night the lift got stuck with the door open and an awful sound came out it , until I got up and closed the lift door and sent it to the ground floor.

Quiet place, quiet streets outside. No dogs barking all night long and tv blaring from across the road.
nice bedding. Theres no bar, but room service will bring up a warm Kingfisher if you call. Location is great easy to catch the ferry to Elephanta.

We had a great time in Mumbai, the hotel was great the rooms are large and clean with a large unsuite we only had breakfast there and it was nice food, with Indian gate only around the corner we did walk there only took about 30 - 40 minutes, Crawford markets only around the corner, it’s a great place to stay.
