Krishna Palace Residency Hotel, Mumbai

The rooms at the Krishna Palace Hotel are very trendy, sleek and clean. The bathrooms are half refurbished and half old - the bathtub and shower is a clue that pre-refurb this hotel must have been quite ropey. Paint was flaking off some parts of the wall in my room and more noticeably bathroom. The breakfast was quite good but not amazing. I ate room service on a few occasions. The vegetarian Indian options were quite good, but the Mexican and western options were pretty poor. I had varied experiences with the staff - some of which were very friendly, and others were downright rude and pushy, openly demanding tips. The reception staff were unable to answer just about any question asked of them about tourist attractions. They didnt have a meaningful map to give me and did not offer much advise. At peak times the lifts get quite congested and accordingly it takes a while to either go up or down. I also came back to find the lift out of order one day which meant a good 15 minutes wait for them to get operational. Given the fact the hotel is a tower with 15 floors, the lifts are pretty vital. I did some laundry at the hotel. I had to chase this up several times and I had to dispute the bill as they had overcharged me. They also gave me someone else's underwear. The main irreparable problem with this hotel is its position. Most of the action in Mumbai is happening in Colaba in the south which is a good 30 minutes by taxi. The hotel is conveniently near to a railway station - about 2 minutes walk from Grant Road Station making suburban train access very easy, and it also makes it easy to tell taxis where to go.

Room is fine but I didn't like the restaurant. I ordered Italian food but it tasted like Indian food.
