Great location

Location, nice outside terrace

the best perk of this hotel its location. situated a few hundred meters down of the taj mahal hotel it gives you the same views and nearby are most of the things you want to visit while in mumbai. the rooms are ok, the twin we had was a little cramped and the furniture is a little outdated . but everything was clean, every day again for me that is most important. they also have a nice terrace outside where you can drink your beer after a long day in town. they serve an ok breakfast. staff is friendly and helpfull.

Poorly managed

location

be careful: half of the hotel has been renovated and is really nice (mostly deluxe and executive rooms). standard and single rooms have not been renovated yet (at least, not all of them). they are small and very shabby. the price for such rooms is just outrageous. poor management. wifi expensive and not working properly. too bad because the location is excellent and the hotel has great potential.
Travel tip: Double check in which room you have been booked. Pictures displayed on agoda only show the renovated rooms.

great but get the tipping sorted our

Helpful and well situated

This would be enormously improved if the hotel, like other big hotels, had a tip box where one could pay a sum at the end. The constant pressure for tips from bell boy upwards was very tiring.

Nice hotel, perfect location

Clean, nice and helpful staff, good location

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. It was a clean room and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We arrived very early, and they tried their best to get the room ready as fast as they could. It was perfect located near restaurants, shopping and the sea, only walking distance to many sightseeings. It was also quiet with a nice garden in front of it.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: The boat to Elephant Island is near, and lots of shopping on Colaba Causeway, where you can find some good restaurants too

Good place

location, good service, outside eating/drinking
9.3
Good place in Bombay. The rooms are clean and the beds are good and all the extras are there eg fridge, satelite television, coffeemaker. The best thing about this place is the location and the outside sittingarea where you can have a drink, food and a smoke. The staff is really good and helpfull. Food and drinks a little expensive but good. The use of wifi is really expensive.

Good location for events near Taj Mahal Hotel

Location - ideal for travellers looking for budget accomodation close to the Taj Mahal Hotel
5.7
Chosen on the basis of its proximity to the Taj Mahal for a late arrival, prior to moving to the Taj Mahal the next day. There is not a lot going on in the immediate vicinity, though basic shopping streets are not far away, ie within walking distance. The hotel is small and the bedrooms and public rooms are cramped, ie squeezing a lot into a small space. The facilities are limited so best viewed as a base from which to pursue other activities. Note heavy use of 'mothballs' type anti-insect chemical in the cupboard in bedroom when I stayed, ie keep the cupboards closed if you are averse to this particular smell. Overall, not a destination hotel in its own right but an option for travellers wanting a base for a short stay in this particular location.
Restaurant Tip: Small breakfast room only, with limited menu, so don't rely on this for a hearty breakfast to start the day

I was booked by one company for my official trip but the hotel was satisfactory for a night stay. Neatness was ok and staff were also good.

Great location but overprized

Location
5.3
The place is a stone`s throw away from the Taj and the gateway which makes it a great place if you want to explore that area of Mumbai. Rooms were spacious but one room smelled of smoke and the windows were all very small so that the Sea View is not really that great at all. Breakfast was 2 Indian dishes, omelettes or toasts and some tea / juice. Staff were helpful, showers were hot. Pubics on freshly washed towels, fridge switches off when you take the room key out of the slot, aircon is the old loud type. Loads of dogs and beggars outside. Would not stay there again as it is a very expensive option if you are just after a place to sleep.
