Excellent lobby with lots of Indian touches, outstanding breakfast buffet at Citrus, smart rooms, proximity to international airport.
Too many of the handling staff hungry for tips and they make this apparent, Leela's website reservation is perpetually in a state of disrepair.
Leela is my preferred choice in Mumbai while transiting despite some of its shortcomings listed above. Overall it is a classy place - comfortable & luxurious - and has very good restaurants in house. The standards of service of the baggage handlers and other staff could do with some polish.
Restaurant Tip : Breakfast buffet at Citrus - try the south Indian items like dosa and idli and sambar.

Though the room was not overly large, it was not small and used the space very well. The very large window and alcove added a sense of spacious openness and light, and the room was very tastefully decorated; the aesthetics were quite refined. The bed was very comfortable and had excellent pillows. I was relieved they had an entire floor that was marked "no smoking," so I never had to exit my room and run into a stale corridor odor. The lobby lounge restaurant is beautifully situated looking out on the gardens, very comfortable, and the food and service is excellent -- a very nice place to hang out (I'm just sorry they don't have free wireless in the lobby/lounge area -- they really should). Promiximity to the airport is a big plus for travellers en route. Lastly, it was a very peaceful, gracious hotel, with the sense of belonging that comes from being well-run and well-appreciated for a long time.
The bathtub is small-ish, so you can't really lie down in it fully (seems a poor way to gain an extra 5 inches in a bathroom); other than that, though, it was very lovely. Clarity about getting transportation to the airport was unclear, which disrupted my early morning departure -- it was uncertain whether I needed to call a taxi or whether I received a complementary hotel car (eventually they gave me the latter). Lastly, I didn't like the constant smell of incense in the main hotel lobby, and the arcade of shops tends to have overzealous shopkeepers aggressively plying their wares. None of the above would stop me in the slightest from returning, however.
I will definitely return to the Leela on my next pass through Mumbai. I received an excellent value-for-services arrangement from Agoda, very close to the same price for the Palmgrove Ramada, which I visited and was just awful. It's the perfect hotel to go to if you want to be near to the airport but not feel like you're in a "transit" hotel. The grounds are very lovely and large, so you feel in a special place removed from the hubbub of the city. I very highly recommend this hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There's a nice Sikh taxi driver who has waited outside the Leela to take passengers for many years. He's a friendly, reliable, honest (I believe), English-speaking man who did a wonderful job driving me around the city all day long at a reasonable cost. I'll definitely look for him again. I think the front doormen know him well

they made a problem for me regarding the checkout.. i was supposed to pay for the rooms even though i had paid lately for them by using this site. the water of the bedroom's bathroom was dirty.
i liked the chinese restaurant. however, i had a poblem during the checkout. i was supposed to pay for the rooms even though i had paid lately for them by using this site. the water of the bedroom's bathroom was dirty. there was a restaurant that also bought the food late, and some of the dishes were bought by mistake.

Location, facilities and service
The Leela is a favourite stop when I travel in and out of Mumbai. The super comfort of a Leela bed is just great after a long flight in and gets you ready for a hectic and steam day to follow in India!
Conversely, a chill out in one of their great restaurants before a flight out is also a delight worth trying. Their rooftop Italian restaurant is a bit special but pricey.

excellent service, nice room quality, maintains Indian culture, not too western
services at hotel are fairly expensive
I enjoyed my flight layover at the Hotel Kempinski. Hotel staff was extremely helpful and helped rearrange a flight time for me so that I could get more sleep. Room accommodations themselves were uniformly excellent (the shower in particular was outstanding)
Shopping Tip : You can get cell phone SIMs for India in a small shop in the shopping area downstairs.

Near the airport, well maintained rooms and good food selection too!
Not many shopping malls and food outlets closeby, traffic congestion getting back to the hotel from the city centre. Room rate is a little on the high side.
Always enjoyed staying at this hotel with their ever friendly staff, proximity to the airport with f.o.c hotel pick up and drop off is also a big plus. Generally, the rooms are well maintained and the quality of food served is great! Would strongly recommend this hotel for business or leisure purpose.
Hotel Feature Tip : There is a garden within the hotel compound where one can take an evening or morning stroll.

Hotel corridors are You Qiwei
Relatively high quality of hotel employees, guests will see their palms together to pay tribute to the guests. Services are in place, front reception lady personally took us to the room, patiently explaining the room facilities and features. A Chinese TV station (Voice of America, Oh). Toilet facilities is still relatively easy to use. The next day the room is also complimentary fruit. Buffet material is also relatively rich in India have been very difficult, and selection is also more common. Hotel Interior may be renovated, the corridor has a very pungent You Qiwei.
