I know that Mumbai is an expensive city for rooms, even though it is in India. However, the West End rooms are way overpriced. They are dingy and poorly furnished. My wife and I booked a junior suite to have a relatively superior room. However, the junior suite they gave us was especially dark and gloomy. We requested a downgrade to a regular room, which was a little better.

Tired, bit run down hotel, good location

i stayed in a large room and was travelling by myself. i felt a little bit creeped out there being a solo female. the desk staff weren't friendly. before i arrived, i emailed several times about arranging an airport pick-up which they never replied to. luckily a friend arranged a pick-up for me. i could never unlock my door by myslef and needed help everytime. staff were always close by which was handy and floor staff were friendly. i suspect this hotel may have been grand at one stage but now it is just run down and shabby (but not chic). the breakfast was lovely as was the service and the breakfast room itself. to be fare i only stayed one night but that was enough to be happy about leaving.
