Daniell'sTavern
In 1786 Thomas and William Daniell arrived in India to paint the unrivalled scenery and architecture of Hindostan. Daniell's Tavern relives the journey of the Daniells and traces Thomas and William Daniell's footsteps on a gastronomic journey through each of the places they visited. Interestingly, some of the recipes have been taken out of the diaries of the Daniells. The pan-Indian restaurant showcases original lithographs by the Daniells.

the wonderfully friendly staff, the location, the hotel's historical background, the decoration, the quality of all services
the customers have changed over the years : more businessmen, more "nouveau riche" tourists with no manners, who have changed the atmosphere of the hotel: more noisy, more commercial and "americanized" (American entertainment music...). So it is definitely not what it used to be before, an Indian Heritage hotel with a strong character... And this we can regret. Prices have also rocketed.
A great place to stay, but don't expect an Indian Heritage hotel like the ones you find in Rajasthan. The Imperial has "westernized" a lot over the last few years and the crowd there is what it used to be: the old classy Indian atmosphere seems to be gone...
