Lovely hotel, though pricey and a little remote

Lovely spot on the river, but not walkable to the beaches. Plenty of taxis, none using the meter! Best hotel bed ever. Proximity to river posed some mosquito problems at dusk, so an evening swim is best missed.Pity. Spa treatments same price as local UK prices, not at all competetive. Another pity. Local restaurants not of very high standard, but pleasant and good value. Fresh fish a-plenty. Little local shopping ... Baga the nearest and best.
We were a post-wedding group of friends, so didn't take kindly to notices forbidding guests to bring their "own drinks" on to the premises.Rather cheeky; this was our abode for a week!
Restaurant Tip:
St Anthony's on Baga beach copes well with a lot of covers and food is good. Best to avoid "Fat Fish" om main road outside Baga until they get their cockroaches trained to avoid diners' plates while the diner is still eating. Food poor anyway.

Very bad standard of room, looks like a 2-3star room
The bathroom was a major let down looked very outdated
The reception staff were very indifferent and never saw then smiling even when you smile at them
Location was another let down, have to go through this very narrow lane. There is abso nothing walking distance so be prepared to shell out cab money. They have a shuttle bus to Baga beach but if you wana explore other beaches you will need to hire cab.
The resort itself is very beautiful and they also have a pure veg restaurant called Jalsa.
The restaurant staff was friendly and so were the security staff, something the reception staff should learn from

best hotel in north goa
excellent resort,friendly staff,superb breakfast...

resort rio is by far one of the best resorts in north goa.it is 10 mins drive from baga beach...it is an excellent resort having spacious rooms,beautiful pool and spa...
rooms were excellent and the breakfast was mind blowing.
the staff was very friendly and very helpful...specially would like to mention miss monalisa for her full co operation and guidance.
pizza by the pool was very good and full marks to hotel cleanliness and facilities...
it is an 5 star class hotel....will surely come back...

try the woodfried pizza's by the pool
