A home away from home
Mr. Rebelo, location, room
8.7
Mr. Rebelo makes the travel experience feel like a stop at a friend's home. He welcomed me to my ground floor room when I arrived relatively late, tired from an overnight trip from Aurangabad. The room was extremely clean and well-equipped, with a hot pot and fridge and cable TV. The fact that the room is part of a heritage home also adds to the charm. Mr. Rebelo went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable, including showing me what places I should visit and see. Staying here was a highlight of my time in Goa.

The owner Derek arranged a car for the morning and transport to the train station. He also invited me and the other guest to breakfast and explained the tourist attractions of the area. He certainly made my stay in Goa very informative and very pleasant.

superb panjim accomodation!
comfortable independent room with aircon and private terrace, superfriendly owner, very quiet surroundings
9.7
i did stay 3 nights at Vivenda Rebelo and had a great time. the suite room is actually a big independent apartment, on two levels plus terrace, very clean and spacious. very close to Panjim city center but in a nice leafy and quiet street, in a neighborhood of historical portuguese houses. the owner Mr. Deric is the friendliest person ever, doing his best to make you feel familiar in Panjim and able to arrange/suggest the best sightseeing trips and deals. i was so lucky to taste a fresh coconut just cut from his own palm trees! and got the best scooter rental deal in town thru him! he even drove us to the fort across the river on a sunday morning! absolutely the sweetest host ever, so full of attentions (plenty of bottled water f.i.)
make Vivenda Rebelo and Panjim your base camp and visit the beaches and old Goa from there, it's well worth it! obrigadinho - i'll denitely come back!

Pleasant experience
Staff, location and Terrasse/Happy hour
6.7
We had a beautiful stay at Vivenda, Mr. Rebello/owner is one of the nicest and most helpful person we ever encountered in our travels. His knowledge of the area enables him to provide his customers the necessary info to keep them happy and comfortable. He even took me to a dental clinic. We will certainly go back there when in Panaji

Nice and helpful owner who has valuable advices
7.7
The owner, is very helpful. He made our stay comfortable and we felt at home. Even though breakfast was not included, he invited us for both days. He gave us his number so we can contact him at any time (we even exchange some messages after we left). Drop offs in the city and bus stations were great

Most friendly place to stay
The owner, the size of the rooms, complimentary water, tea and coffee and location in Campal district
9.7
The owner, was very friendly and was outside to greet us as soon as we arrived. He was able to tell us so much about the area and suggested things to see, altogether he was an amazing host. We stayed in the room at the top, very spacious with fans and air con. There was also a beautiful balcony to sit and watch the world go by. At night the area was very quiet so getting a good night sleep was easy. The main part of town was about 15 minutes walk but to get there you can walk through the lovely Campal gardens and then also along the water front. We would highly recommend this place to stay.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Ask for the upstairs room

Very pleasant stay
The owner of the "homestay", was extremly friendly and helpul without beeing impish.
8.3
We had seen very positive reviews on the Agoda Webside and thought this must be a little bit exaggerated. But from the moment of our arrival made us feel comfortable. He was very helpful with regard to all practical needs and made our stay extraordinary pleasant in a genuine friendly atmosphere. He had always good solutions for our needs and provided us with a lot of interresting inside information.
It could be advisable to note the phone number and leave it to the taxi driver, since our driver had some problems to find the adress (with some guiding by phone the problem was easily solved).

Great hospitality and good location
Friendly owner, good location in Panjim
8
My wife and I stayed here in January 2013 and had a nice 4 nights. The main reason we loved it (and the town of Panjim) is Deric, the owner of Vivenda Rebelo. Deric is just the nicest guy. He's so eager to please and make your stay as pleasant as possible. Seemingly nothing is too much to ask from him, and he does it with a smile.
We thoroughly loved our stay in his family home (the guest rooms are in a detached building on the same property on a quiet, pretty side street in Panjim.) Each morning we'd walk and explore the town and nearby sights (like Old Goa which is just a short bus ride from Panjim).
The rooms are simple but comfortable and the air-conditioning was great, as were all the free bottles of water and the mini-fridge. We stayed on the lower level and had a nice patio that we could sit out on, in the shade or at night with lights on. Deric would frequently check in on us (in a good way) to make sure all was fine.
The only two downsides, I'd say, for this homestay, are that there isn't currently a breakfast offered (Deric says he plans to offer a basic breakfast soon). Currently though, because of the location of Deric's place, you have to walk abuot 15 minutes or so into the busier area of town where there are many options. Secondly, the only wifi is available in Deric's home, not in the homestay rooms.
All in all though, Deric's Vivenda Rebelo homestay was such a pleasure for us, and we will never forget our time in Panjim or meeting such a kind-hearted, honest guy.
Restaurant Tip:
Splurge on a breakfast at the nearby Taj property. You can get the fancy buffet or order ala carte (which we did) and it was delicious and a huge amount of food -- enough to skip lunch.
