relax with typical boat house

don’t expect much. 1 night is enough as its bored to stay longer in boat house. toilet is ok, bed is not comfort. Mattress is hard. the overall boat hse is just ok for cleanliness. The food is bad. Do not take food from the houseboat. And just beware of the pushy staff offering their sight seeing packages.
friendly people in the boathouse.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
ask for your boat rider or shikara named Muzafar. he is lovely guy with good heart.

I was excited to stay in Houseboat, and this was my first time to stay in Houseboat. After reading and going through all the reviews, I choose Royal houseboat. But trust me guys don't spoil your vacation/holiday mood by staying any of the houseboat. If you are ready to adjust for food, comfort, room service, 24 Hrs electric power supply, Hot water (hot water matters a lot in Kashmir) then you can stay at Houseboat else just cut it down from your vacation plan.

good location and decent looking houseboat

arrived at 2.30pm in freezing cold. good reception. had 2 breakgasts(covered)1 lunch and 2 dinners. paid what they asked for and cannot complain.
rooms did not have sufficent heating except hot water bags for each bed. pressured them to proved gas heating at no additional cost. hot water for baths was only available 1 hour in the morning.
i do not think the caretaker was sincere as he went on the defensive often
overall it was still value for money
Travel tip:
this is a good place to stay in real winter but the hot water and heating facilities need to be improved.
however,the team of 8 travellers had a great time at the houseboat.

Everything was good except the hot water in taps and lack of heating arrangements in the room.
