Robert C. Solo travelers United States of America, March 01, 2013	Bedst hotel so far Outstanding hotel 9.7 I requested late arrival. My flight was delayed even further than expected but when I arrived shortly before midnight the staff was there ready and willing to serve me and my needs. I would definitely stay here again and I am a particular American. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: I sponsor a little girl in Nagercoil which was the main purpose of the trip. But that only took two days so I am sightseeing and shopping for the next two weeks.

Couples United States of America, February 09, 2013	Bad management, pool out of service, wi-fi poor Location walking distance to train, rooms pretty clean/comfortable 5 We were so frustrated by this property. My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and had a pretty poor experience. Had booked a Club room at the suggestions of Agoda users but checked in late and staff said no more Club rooms... we got upgraded to a suite but it took a few tries to get a good room. The room was clean enough, A/C was good, and hot water was great. (Watch out for the lethal marble lip coming out of the bathroom into the bedroom – my wife tripped on it and really hurt her foot.) The pool was closed for maintenance, and the wi-fi promised in the room didn’t work. To get a signal, you had to sit in the hallway near the elevator, which was dark and noisy at times. There’s no wi-fi in the lobby, which is a joke, considering how opulent they’ve made it. For the higher price, we expected these promised amenities to be available, and they weren’t. Breakfast was a mess: Poor service, items finished with still an hour to go, had to ask for everything to be replenished while staff stood around doing nothing. Food quality was just okay, but the rooftop view is nice The staff here is pretty clueless, and most don’t speak English, which can be a challenge. The very next morning we conveyed all of our issues to the manager, Radhika, who did speak good English, and at first she seemed willing to help and even refund us a little money, but upon checkout, she gave us a serious run-around and refused to give us any money back, saying we’d have to talk to Agoda. On a plus side, the hotel was very quiet, although depending on your room, you could have noise issues, as Air India uses this hotel for their flight crew, and they were very noisy upon checking in. Also, the location is great – close to the train station (walking distance) but tough to find this street at night, so ask someone so you don’t go all the way to MG Road and miss the turnoff. Hotel Feature Tip: avoid 7th floor, as one room we looked at there had very loud noises coming from roof above (hvac/other machinery on roof?).

Solo travelers United Kingdom, February 06, 2013	Lovely Hotel and Big Room Very Smart Hotel, Big Room, Restaurant. 9.3 I had booked this hotel a few months before and compared to some of the hotels in India that I stayed it - it was a sight for sore eyes when the rickshaw drew up in front of it!!! Beautiful lobby and greeted with traditionally dressed doorman (turban etc). The down side was the sing pool was closed for main thence and the 'sizzling chicken' restaurant on the top floor was also not open. But the other restaurant was - buffet - and it was lovely - all you can eat!! About Rps 500. Hotel Feature Tip: I booked a backwater trip through the hotel but don't do this. And don't book a taxi to airport either - get one yourself - much cheaper. The taxi drivers all know where to go!!
