Proximty to the tourist destinations in Varanasi, Lovely quiet bar to relax in, excellent restaurant, nice swimming pool.
Its one small lift gets crowed when busy, slow check in and check procedures, shops not stocking standard tourist items such as appropriate batteries for digital cameras.
Clarks was the first tourist hotel in Varanasi and is showing its age. Rooms and decor are a bit tired. However, we found int comfortable and the service reasonable.
We enjoyed a swim in the pool at the back of the hotel, and enjoyed numerous meals in the restaurant. I like Indian food and found that the presentation and quantities served in restaurant to be good. I loved the vegeterian food there.
If I return to Varanasi I would be happy to stay there again.
Shopping Tip : There is small shopping mall about 100-200 metres from the hotel just around a bend in the road. There is a McDonalds and a Pizza place in the shopping mall. How ever, remember that in India beef is not served so you will have to subsitute a Big Mac for Maharaja Chicken Burger or a Vegie Burger.

Great Service, clean and good value for price. Not at the center of town.
If you ordered a taxi through the hotel it will cost you double.
I was very pleased and will come back.
