Worth for what you've paid
easy access to the north cliff

The hotel just 5 to 10 minutes walk to the north cliff, on the way there can pass by many ayurvedic centre, and some home style restaurant. 3 rd floor of the hotel have small kitchen you can. The hotel to varkala railway station just 10 mins rickshaw ride cost around 50 rps.

Functional hotel a little way from beach

We only stayed one night as though the hotel isn't bad we found it a little dull and relatively far from the beach. We found many other places that were cheaper that were also closer to the beach, had more interesting decor (beach hut style for example) and more going on. Haiwa isn't really a traveller type hotel in my opinion and there are better places nearby.

The location was 10 min walk to beach cliff

- The hotel was slightly difficult to locate.
- There were few basics missing in the room. Water, TV didnt turn on, Soap/ shampoo...though after asking the guy (Nitin) provided the stuff.
- It was arnd 10 min walk from the Beach Cliff. If you search, you might be able to find hotel nearer to Beach too.
- Seems to be nice guy, needs to be more mature in providing comfort to the traveler.

arrived at the haiwabeach residency in the afternoon and was warmly welcomed by manager, nithin. got a great room upstairs looking over the surrounding area - not built up and not overlooked. the included breakfast was good with a choice of kerala breakfast as well if you want. had a great time and easy to meet other guests if you want on the upstairs balcony or if you don't want can keep to yourself as well.

close to everything and quiet at night

very friendly and helpfull staff, i had b/fast included and its was great. they organised massages in the hotel, and they were perfect way to finish the day after helping the local fisherman haul in nets and an afternoon of body surfing in the very warm ocean.

Lovely large rooms, bathrooms a bit run-down but not at all bad for an Indian hotel!
Good linens, even towel 'animals' on the bed to welcome us.
It is about a 10 minute walk to the cliff top area where most of the action is. It is a safe but rather dark walk at night.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Safer to select an inside room rather than one of the exterior rooms.

the hotel was only a 5 minute walk from the shops, cafes and beach etc. the rooms were a very good size, fairly basic but clean and had every you need. breakfast was ok but not very varied but for the price we paid we were very satisfied. the staff were very helpful and friendly. there was even free wi-fi in the lobby
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Excellent area for all the Indian massages. Lovely beach but a very steep climb down to reach it and then back up again. No drinks/food shacks on the beach so remember to take drinks down with you as you won't want to keep climbing up all those steps to get a drink!
