Cheap as chips Good service Nice reception area Real pool bar Reasonably good pool area Parking outside Close to beach Minibar with drinks (didn't see many of those in Bali)

Run down hotel Poor breakfast

We only stayed at this hotel for one night, as it is closer to the airport then the other Bali locations we stayed at. For that purpose, this hotel was great. However I would not stay at this hotel for my entire holiday, as it is run down. However if you're on a tight budget, this hotel will probably be a good option, as it's got a pool & all oteher amenities of a hotel (as opposed to guest houses & warung's that mightn't have such facilities).

Restaurant Tip : The most amazing tenderloin is served at Rumours in Seminyak. Pretty cheap too. Try it.

The best about this hotel is its cool and calm surroundings. It is quite inside from the main road. It is suitable for the people who like toa have rest peacefully. The room and the building are also beautiful with the traditional touch of Bali.

It is quite secluded from the main road so it is not advisable for a person to walk alone back to the hotel at night. The lane is dark and need more lighting. If you need entertainment, this place is not for you because you have to take a 10 minute cab ride to Legian and Kuta Beach. Furthermore for Muslim guest, they cannot get HALAL food here at the coffee house.

If you want a peaceful surroundings then this is a place for you. The room, especially the standard room is quite spacious for two people. The place is also not far from the Seminyak beach where you can have a stroll in the evening. The Clubs and pubs are in walking distance but do take note to walk in a group at night. If you concern about your budget, this place is suitable for you.

Nightlife Tip : The clubs and pubs are in a walking distance.

The hotel was nice and quiet and there was no disturbing noise from other businesses. It was close to shops and resturants and easily reached on foot. Staff very polite and keen to assist.

During our stay in two different rooms we found the actual structure of the rooms was designed for South-East Asian body sizes. The doorways could be a problem, but not a major one. The road from the hotel to the main road away from the beach is dug up for installation of a new drain and there is a large amount of both motorbike and vehicle traffic along it forcing guest to be very careful to avoid injury. This however should be of short duration once the road is repaired (at Indoneian time).

On the whole I quite enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It was close to the beach and to shops but not so close that that street activities disturbed the peace and quiet. The grounds of the hotel were very peaceful with a large number of different tropical plants lining all the walkways. I would like to have seen a little more variety with the meals in the resturant as they did not change during the length of my stay.

Restaurant Tip : The closest resturant to the hotel on the main road down to the beach had poor service and a menu which listed food that the resturant did not have in stock. There is a great variety of restuants a short walk up the road.

Great luxurious lobby, excellent buffet breakfast, staff is very kind & helpful, free wi-fi in the lobby area

Years are starting to show their impact o n the interior of the bungalows, a "refresh would be recommended". One thing which is really neglected are the bathrooms.

Once the taxi driver drops you at the entrance of this hotel, you are immediately amazed by the luxurious lobby in front of you. The reception stuff welcomes you with a free welcome drink and makes you sit & relax while they check you in. The compound and setting is very nice & quite, yet very close to the one of the main Seminyak streets. The bungalows are comfortable in size, though years are starting to show its impact on the walls, furniture and exponentially towels & sheets. They are indeed washed & perfumed, nevertheless, you can see spots on them, making them look not really too clean. The bathroom would really (but I mean really) need a good scrub, because they do not clean them well at all. This is also one thing we have noticed all over Bali, not specific to this hotel only. On the other side, next to the great lobby, you can enjoy a great buffet breakfast, in peace and quite, next to the hotel swimming pool, which compensates a bit the above mentioned drawbacks. Overall, we were satisfied staying here for 3 nights, nevertheless, I would consider a different spot shouils I sped a week or more.

Restaurant Tip : a very nice Indian restaurant in the main street next to the hotel, actually the only Indian restaurant we found in that area. Amazing food & friendly staff.

Economical Balinese style hotel, friendly staff, easily accessible to beach and shopping street, green

room and bath room cleanliness

Bali Agung is indeed an economical Balinese style hotel. The hotel is quiet, serene and surrounded with plants. The staff are friendly and polite. Efficient in getting request answered. Shuttle service is available to Kuta beach and shopping area. Walking distance to Seminyak beach and shopping street. Swimming pool looks clean and well-maintained. It is anyhow that the room is a little not clean; stain and dusty bed sheets. Shower head is old and did not flush well. Toilet water flush was faulty, hence water kept flowing out into the toilet bowl, water wastage. Bali Agung anyhow has its uniqueness in its Blinese style stay, for the rate charged. It can be better though.

Close to the beach and to the excellent Gado-Gado restaurant (10 min. walk).

The whole compound is outdated and will allegedly be sold soon. Due to the uncertain future the staff is friendly but not overly motivated. Fittings in the bathroom are completely limed up. The flush of the toilet is too weak to move away any solids (at the first try). Don't know how often they change the water in the swimmingpool. Sometimes they pour some chlorine into the pool, that's it! Dishes at the breakfast buffet are not always clean.

Regarding the beaches of Kuta, Seminyak, Legian: there exists nothing like a sewage plant, i.e. wastewater goes - via tiny creeks - directly into the sea and on certain days the waves washes garbage form the ships on the beach. Avoid to swallow sea water. It is dirty and you'll get diarreah (in the best case...)

Hotel Feature Tip : Choose another hotel!

Bali style furniture

Furniture. fitting

This is an old hotel. When i stepped in the room i am disappointed especially the toilet and bath room fitting. The fitting are too old and rusty. Towels full with the soap powder smile. I will not recommend this hotel.

Quiet, peaceful and serene. No fuss...no trouble.

Shuttle bus to run more frequently. More deckchairs and tables around the pool.

A great place to relax, a stones throw to shopping and great eats...food here is excellent as is the pool, staff and setting.

Travel tip : Great silver shop..Wendys around the corner. She will organise a driver for $50 a day.

The tropical style.

The breakfast.

The hotel is relatively cheap compared to others. However, the breakfast can be improved. The staff is nice. If you leave 1 or 0.5 Dollar on you bed, they will very happy. The chatted with us friendly. The beach in front of the hotel is not so good. If I would can again, I will choose another beach.

Beautiful garden and very nice breakfast buffet. The rooms all have pleasant outside sitting areas.

The rooms are a bit small and dark; shopworn, but functional. The bathrooms are large enough, but tatty.

The Bali Agung is tucked away in the village, about equally distant (5-10 minute stroll) from the beach and shopping. We found it very quiet with a lovely small pool and large covered courtyard and restaurant. Well satisfied and a good value.

Quiet and with nice little get-away garden.

Rooms are not very modern.

The Bali Agung Hotel is a quiet get-away for people who do not want to spend too much money for their hotel. The breakfast location is very nice outdoors with birds flying around. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. If you arrive late in the evening it may be good to take a taxi there as the hotel is not too easy to find by car if driven by yourself.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Just down the road about 300m is the beach for a swim.

good location

staff, age of facilities

Staff was lazy, but polite. Our villa was occupied, we were living in a room. Food is really shitty, do not understand whre they took that "tea". Prices in menu were changing day by day. Sanitary ware is just old, bed covers are yellow because of age, too. Book this hotel only if you want living in a villa and limited by your budget. Do not eat in hotel, lost of good places are around.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Kudeto is close, nice place

Good value. Real Balinese atmosphere. Good, quiet location.

A few chips & cracks in the bathrooms,- easily overshadowed by spotless rooms & linen. Some might find the location too quiet.

A real find- the place really feels like a Balinese village in a lovely garden setting. Very good value. Rooms comfortable, good air-con, & handy to have small fridge in the room. Close to beach, but far enough from the crowds & noise of Kuta (a few dollars cab away if you like, & several daily free shuttles). Good buffet breakfast, well maintained pool. Friendly staff- more than helpful. I would always stay here.

Restaurant Tip : Good, reasonable restaurant on way to the beach, & a more expensive (but classy) one on the beachfront.
