Nice Beachfront Hotel, a good pool, large rooms

Good breakfast, nice smaller pool, immediate beach access, not overcrowded, sun lounges, garden setting
8.3
After 35 trips to Bali and having run Hotels for 15 years in my career, I think I am well qualified to give a review that others should take note of....the Bali Bhuana Beach Hotel is a nice Hotel with good amenities (for Bali) in the Lovely diving town of Amed. The Pool (beachfront), whilst small was refreshing and well planned, with sun lounges and a Bule nearby for those that just want to relax. Direct beach access and the fishing village of Amed on your doorstep are a nice touch and sunrise from the foreshore is worth getting up for. The breakfast was good with a generous selection of fruits and the usual omlettes, etc available included. The rooms are larger with Good A/c and a pleasant smaller bathroom. In room safe also adds to sense of security. The staff are attentive and genuinely seem to be concerned if you are enjoying your stay. Although we were there in low season when many hotels had no-one in house, Bali Bhuana still had a reasonable number of guests showing its overall popularity and repeat business. Personally, unless you get a really good deal, I don't think there is much difference room standard wise between the normal rooms (ask for a downstairs room if possible) and the Bungalows...not enough to justify the extra money unless you really don't want to disturb anybody else (maybe you are both "screamers in the bedroom")and require a free-standing room of your own. Perhaps , see if you can negotiate an upgrade on arrival instead, but I am sure you will be most pleased with the rooms and beds, etc and large balcony area that you get anyway. Security is good and restaurant is fresh and OK. A Must is to wander down the beach to Warung (Cafe) Indah....Franky and his family will serve you some of the best fish you'll eat anywhere in Bali (the Mahi Mahi steaks are great but the local Bonita Tuna are also tasty) they serve good safe Arak and will entertain and serenade you all for a few dollars more than some of the cheaper places...an absolute must visi

Simply the best

Very friendly and right on the beach

We spent 5 days here and wished we could have spent much more. The Lipah Beach area is still unspoilt all though that is changing fast. The people here live a subsistence farming and fishing life and are very friendly. This hotel is right on the beach, not near or close but right on the beach. The water was crystal clear and you can snorkel right in front of the hotel although there is better snorkelling around two hundred metres south of the hotel. The swimming pool is smallish but deep with an infinity edge facing the sea. Behind the pool is a restaurant which serves a good breakfast and then serves meals throughout the day. The accommodation faces a grassed garden full of paw paw, banana and jackfruit trees. We stayed in a deluxe room which was spacious and comfortable. The are a number of warungs within easy walking distance that provide good cheap local food. Watch the local fishing boats returning and unloading their catch in the morning.

this is a bit further out of the main amed area but glad i stayed. they provide an excellent delicious free breakfast and great snorkelling on the beach, which the hotel is sitting on. one night we picked a restaurant to watch a live band at and they even offered to drive us there and pick us up as well !!! a lovely few days to relax and get to know the real bali!

Beautiful setting and peaceful location

Our room was very nice, the staff were very friendly, and there was fantastic snorkelling from the beach at the bottom of the well kept garden.

our room was very nice, one of 4 individual beach cottages set in lovely gardens. the shower could have been more vigorous but otherwise we were very happy with the accommodation. we found very good scuba diving through the operator in lipah bay as well as great snorkelling right in front of the cottages. this is a quiet and sleepy holiday destination, not at all commercialised. we found a selection of good cafes/restaurants within walking distance, and all is quiet from about 9pm, which was fine for us as we were tired after diving!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: For diving, don't miss the Liberty wreck at Tulamben. Otherwise, a drive to Tirta Gangga water gardens is very worthwhile too.

Nice comfortable getaway

Cleanliness, location, friendly atmosphere, no annoying crowds of tourists
9.3
Check in: you'll accomplish it sitting in the restaurant with a free drink, (your things already in your room) Swimming and snorkeling: the seashore is 20 m from the restaurant, down tha alley with palm and papaya trees growing alongside. Rooms: clean, spacious enough, with new up-to-date electrical equipment. Bathroom: spacious, with decorative tropical plants growing on the flowerbed along the wall. Ways of payment: both cash and Visa/Master Card. BTW if the hotel adds Union Pay to the list, guests from China will appreciate it too
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: If you're fond not only of swimming/snorkeling/diving, but also of mountain climbing, you can try trekking mount Agung (for details you can contact the hotel's reception). They usually start climbing right after 2AM, so you'll appreciate both star skies during the climb and the sunrise landscape seen from the top.

Excellent

location and service

We stayed here for 3 nights but would have stayed much longer. Fabulous location and the snorkelling is to die for. The staff were lovely- helpful and always smiling. The rooms are large but simple. We got massages through the hotel from the staffs- 100,000IDR and very good. Mosquito nets were provided for the bed but you might need to bring a couple of mozzie plugs for the room and , especially, the bathroom. We ate at different restaurants and would thouroughly recommend Café Indah, Wayan Warung and Sails
Hotel Feature Tip: Get a massage onthe 'bale' by the sea.
