Looking for this hotel location is incredibly easy, it is situated very near to main attraction in Ubud such as, the pasar ubud, monkey forest, and also the numerous good restaurant in Ubud. However, when i drove there using google map as my navigation system, it was chaotic, as Biyukukung is wrongly pointed in google map. After asking local resident, this problem solved immediately though.
Staff very attentive in helping check in process. I cannot complain about the cleanliness, and the breakfast served was also not disappointing.
The main attraction of this hotel though is the quiet and relaxing environment as it was situated around the paddyfield.

Unclean, Old, and Full of Creatures!

My stay in Biyukukung Suites and Spas was terrible and underwhelming. Upon arrival we figured that we would be greeted with lush green fields and swaying rice paddies but all the fields were dead, burnt, and brown. (Not the case with all the other rice fields that we saw in the Ubud area while cycling and walking.) The hotel staff was less than welcoming and seemed to constantly be trying to sell us extra things that they promised to "only take 3% extra charge on." We expected the hotel to help us for free and not try to pay for basic customer service.
The room was very old and the furniture was shabby at best. There was no bug screens over the door grating so every night hundreds of mosquitoes would come in and then die all over the first floor and the bathroom sink. This wasn't the worst as every night frogs would slip into the bathroom from the only partially covered bathroom ceiling. Also the bedroom was packed with geckos whose loud nighttime noises kept us up all night. We were prepared for some creatures but when a flying cockroach flies out from the dirty cupboard you realize that the place is unkempt and unprepared to cope with the environment the hotel is set in.
Last note, the spa's prices are RIDICULOUSLY high. They charge about 5 times more than the rest of Ubud for the same services. Don't know how this hotel ever got such a high rating.

The staff really made this a great experience for a solo traveler. Was met at the airport at around 1am as planned with clear sign board and a smile. Helpful tips in the morning and free shuttle drop off into town. The spa was good and rates were discounted to 50% off for guests (which I did not know til after I went to pay). It was great value. I would recommend this hotel to solo travelers or anyone wanting quiet. The views out of the rooms are lovely - rice paddies. Each room has an outside sitting area. Rooms are spacious and clean. It is not a 5 star hotel so bear that in mind. Bathrooms are basic, but clean and everything is in working order. I would say it is 3.5 stars, but very, very well done and a great stay in a beautiful town.
