Next to monkey forest and lots of monkeys near the hotel.

Bad food, staff asks for tips a lot.

This hotel is right next to the monkey forest and you will see monkeys all around the hotel in the morning. They may even try to steal some of your breakfast. However the rooms are outdated, old, and not that nice. If you want to see monkeys stay here but do not expect a 4 star quality lodging.

Monkeys all over the hotel and right next to the monkey forest.

The rooms are old and outdated, the staff will hastle you everyday for tours and tips (although common for bali), I would not consider this a 3.5 star hotel, more likely a two star.

The only reason to pay this much for a hotel in ubud is if you like monkeys. It may be worth the price to see monkeys out of your room alone. However, the rooms are old, cracked, and not very clean. The first night there was a large black spot on our bed sheets. The staff also hassles you for tips, tours, and taxi constantly. The rooms are overpriced and are not 3.5 star quality as the website says. The food is also not good. We ordered room service and did not finish either meal. The only reason to put up with all this is for the monkeys.

Just across the road from the Monkey Forest Entrance and close to the Monkey Forest Road where there are many shops and restaurants. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Close up contact with the monkeys on your verandah. Spacious room, lovely gardens and sparlking clean pool. Excellent breakfast choices and it was great having tea/coffee making provisions/facilites in the room.

A little noisy during the day with nearby building construction, but this could be muffled with having the airconditioner on. If you have difficulty with your mobility a ground floor room would be best as there are lots of stairs to encounter just getting to the first floor rooms. The bathroom in our standard room was old, but immaculately clean.

Overall, a relaxing and peaceful place to stay for a couple of days in Ubud after the chaos of Kuta. The monkeys can be a bit intimidating and they do steal your belongings, so don't leave anything on your verandah or unattended while you are in the pool.
