Excelent location

While staying at the hotel it was very easy to get to activities on the main street of Ubud.While we did enjoy our stay at the hotel a few things need to be improved.

A hidden gem
The rooms, the pool, the staff

I must admit when we first arrived I thought what had we gotten ourselves into. It looked like an old sprawling, empty complex but when we found the reception - apparently we had gone in through the back entrance by the Monkey Forest - we were amazed by what we saw. It was like a hidden paradise.
There was a beautiful pool and the room we stayed in was beautiful. Well kept with a lovely balcony. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We read reviews before we arrived which seemed to suggest that the place was swarming with monkeys. Well for us it was over run by a couple of cats. Apart from that we only saw one old placid monkey which the staff feed raw eggs and he did not trouble anyone at all.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
You can white water rafting on the nearby rivers - about an hours drive. The best company to do it with is Sobek. They are very professional and a lot of fun. They do the longest stretch of the rivers whereas other companies start their trips later on the river and finish earlier.
There are 2 trips you can do but do the one where you can only go in the morning ..I think it is the Tellegangal river or something like that - as it is a bit more challenging than the Ayung river which is a bit more like a pleasure cruise.

Great location and good size rooms
Very central and had a lovely rice paddy view. The monkeys were very entertaining from our balcony

As the hotel is right next to the Monkey Forest, the monkeys were visible from our room. In the morning they came along the stream to forage through the vegetation and also climbed the coconut trees to retrieve coconuts. We watched them strip the coconuts and then skilfully crack them to drink the juice. This was very entertaining. Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms very very clean and comfortable.
Restaurant Tip:
The markets very extremely busy with the usual Bali market stuff. The art markets were very cheap and you can pick up a bargain.

lovely hotel with not many room, nice pool area

although we were allocated a room with only a rooftop view, but overall we enjoyed the stay and spended a whole day at the pool swimming, suntan and take pictures only
good location, centrally in Ubud
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
it's a good choice if you plan to visit Kintamani or the norther part of BVali, as its near from Ubud

For the price -t - this is quite a good value hotel. It is a little old and tired looking, but is in a very good location in the heart of Ubud. The monkeys do come in of an afternoon so make sure you don't leave any food or bags on the balcony, or leave your door open - apart from that they are interesting! They were doing renovations whaile we were there - and look they will be for awhile - not too noisy but one pool and restaurant not available which made the other pool and restaurant very crowded - particularly as they seem to get alot of tour groups through. The staff were serviceable, but seemed to not really care. The room they had us in was next to the staff room and rubbish area, ao smelt bad outside every morning and the staff were extremely noisy every day when they finished their shifts.
The rooms were quite large and the old trees, etc gave a nice feel, but just a little tired. No internet in rooms (wireless or connection) and wireless in lobby was dial up speed at best.

good room but too many buildings in one location

It was a very short stay, but we regreted that we could not enjoy the stay fully. From our room we only saw the back of other rooms because the site was too crowded with buildings. The only open space was the swimming pool with limited pool deck. The room is nice but lack of maintenance, the towel rack was broken, the shower holder was loose and could not hold the shower.

Great location and nice room

We went to Bali to relax so we choose Ubud area and got this hotel offer at Agoda. The reviews of this hotel are good.
And we proved it. The staffs are nice, no problem at all when we checked-in. Very nice location in Ubud, easy access to go around Ubud. The swimming pool, eventhough quite small, it's nice.

Great Value
The room was lovely and had a large beautiful bathroom. Nice quiet location but Ubud was a little far from the airport. In saying that it was still a lovely hotel and would recommend it to other travellers. The food at the hotel was also great and we had no complaint about service.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and if the need ever again arises that we need to travel to Ubud, I would definately stay at this hotel again
