We stayed for 2 days and had some great chill out time. The pool in the villa is large, clean and has great views of the rice fields. It's a 15 min drive to Ubud town centre, and hotel shuttle service can be sketchy, so if you plan to spend time in town, best to pre-organise a driver and specific pick up times and locations. If you want to just chill, have spa time and relax in serene location, then this is the place. Rooms are not overly child friendly, the 2 sleeping pavilions are separated, and quite far from each other, to the point where you wouldnt be able to hear the children from your room. Great for 2 couples though, or older children.

The villas are beautiful and each has it's own private pool which was so nice. It is about a 15 minute drive into the main town area but the hotel offers a free shuttle service and is really good about going whenever you need for a cheap price if it's not one of the designated times. The breakfast is delicious and the restaurant for dining had a more limited menu but everything on there was top notch quality. Go here if you want complete relaxation.

generally good. But two bed rooms suppose to allow people to live. However, when I was booking on line, the system just allowed twon persons, and will have extra charge for the thrid person and above.
Overall speaking, this is good hotel with good service and facilities.

Thanks to Chapung Se Resort for a wonderful vacation and memories to cherish. Already looking forward to meeting the friendly and welcoming hotel staff again in our next visit. Fantastic architecture and site planning. Must remember to ask who the architect is.
Travel tip:
Great restaurant and food. However, if you are expecting a large buffet type breakfast and crowds as in large hotels, Chapung Se is not be ideal for you.

This hotel is surrounded by rice fields, coconut trees, lotus garden... it is a quite and relaxing place to stay. staff are nice and polite. villa facilities are hi-tech and good. not far away from Ubud downtown. Oh.... SPA was good also.

Perfect honeymoon destination
Service staff were incredible!!! The room was spectacular with a beautiful view over the bush valley.

The best accommodation we have stayed in. A private plunge pool right outside the bedroom overlooking the jungle. The food in the restaurant was great too, but the highlight of our stay was the staff. They just couldn't do enough for you, and made for a perfect honeymoon.
Travel tip:
take AUD or USD with you to Bali, as you get a better exchange rate from the roadside booths than you do from Australian banks or from the airport exchange

nice quiet little retreat by the rice paddy

This has been my first stay in Ubud more than a night and I must say the area has a lot more zen quality than the rest of Bali; however, the hotel was rather remote and secluded. Breakcast menu made up of the organic vegetable they grow is quite nice but hotel has to have more service oriented mind when it comes to quality of air conditioning, lighting as well as the usual guest comfort features we all think when we think about 4 to 5 star hotel. Over all value for money was not really high

Lovely villa in a beautiful setting

nothing negative to say about our stay except that it may be difficult for drivers to locate the hotel for the first time. villa was absolutely beautiful with great decor and furniture. the view of the countryside and padi terraced fields in the distance overlooking our villa was simply amazing. we enjoyed our spa and massage session at the villa with the attentive spa staff. definitely a great choice for honeymooners or couples looking to stay in a quaint location slightly off city-center. waking up every morning in the villa felt like we were waking up in paradise! we would love to be back!

Paradise Tucked Away in a Rice Paddy

Not being very into the touristy thing, we chose to spend most of our five days just relaxing on site. So for us, Chapung Se Bali was exactly what we were looking for - a beautiful, quiet ,private villa with a nice deep pool to dunk ourselves in when it got too hot.
The on-site restaurant is just ok. But that doesn't really matter because there's so much good, affordable food available in Ubud that you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't eat as many meals there as you possibly could. We ate breakfast on-site but all the rest of our meals out in Ubud.
Take the walk to Ubud at least once. It's stunning. For those of us who grew up in the West, rice paddies might not sound like a wonder to behold, but they are. In fact, when you're out there walking through them, you get the idea of why so many people from the West were drawn to Bali in the first place.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Just a heads-up. The hotel will charge you about 40 USD for the airport pick-up if you booked through Agoda. We didn't realize this because people had said that free airport pickup was a feature here. It is - but not for Agoda customers. It's somewhere in the fine print. That said, you should probably take their shuttle anyway. Not worth the haggling with a random taxi driver to save 5 or 10 bucks.
