Fantastic grounds and nice rooms.
Food that is drenched in vinegar. Slightly intrusive service from Personal Assistant. Very expensive car service.
My stay at Como was dissapointing. Whilst the grounds are certainly very impressive, the hotel lacks any real charm or warmth. The hotel allocate a Personal Assistant upon arrival who takes it upon themselves to book you into the activities on offer regardless of whether you want them or not and then nages you to turn up and not be late. Everytime we left our room he was hovering around asking where we were going and when we would be back and was more nosey that my mother. He was always on the hard sell of the spa and i soon discovered the appointment he made for us to see the wellness doctor was actually just another angle to try and sell a massge. This hotel is nice, but if you want to see some culture and explore Bali you could do a lot better than to stay here. It is very expensive, no beer in the mini bar fridges and the food looked pretty but lacked flavour. The restaurants are so dead, that going out for dinner is just wierd as you can feel the waiters eyes on you.

Food, SPA and environment
It's a wonderful experience to stay in Como Shambhala Estate at Begawan Giri Hotel Bali. Fresh air, nice personal assistant, good service, good food, especially, the SPA. I would strongly recommend here, it can really heal your mind and balance your energy.

Residences, beautiful vista
Tiring to get around, not good for kids
We took one of the residences, Tirta Ening, 4 rooms. A late joiner at the last minute was able to bunk in the study, which is cramped and probably not recommended. Individually, rooms were great, however, by taking the whole residence, we had private access to the living room, pool and elsewhere, which made it far better value. Our 'Butler' was fantastic, and really made the holiday that extra special. I would certainly recommend this hotel if you are travelling in a group of 3 or above. We would certainly go back again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Highlight recommend cycling tour through the padi fields. Beautiful scenery.
