For the price this place is very good value for money with breakfast included. The location is excellent as you are just a 2min walk from all the night life that Kuta has to offer. The breakfast was basic (two eggs cooked how you like them) but hey for the price what do you expect. The rooms were clean and spacious. Although the shower was a bit rubbish the bathroom was clean and there was hot water. The fridges in the rooms were a nice add on and a good place to keep water cooling till the next morning when recovering from the night before.
In summery this hotel is perfect if you need some where to recover from the night life. Very good value for money
Restaurant Tip:
legan 61 is a five minute walk from the hotel and does daily offers on drinks as well as cheap good food this place is a real find especially the happy hour from 6-11 50k (about 4 uk pound) drink as much larger as you want a proper bargin

Nice and quiet

This is an older sister hotel to the Barong, but much better! If you plan on exploring the island and need a place for a good nights sleep then this is it. Staff were inconsistently helpful or not, but did try to make us feel welcome with special cocktails, flowers and fruit brought to our room. A shuttle running to and from Legian St. would be good on a hot day.

Dewi Sri Review
The aircon was great and the pool was big and deep too.

I found that the Dewi Sri was perfect in Location... 3mins walk from Jalan Legian (The main strip in Kuta) and it had a nice Balinese feel to it. However thats about as good as this review gets because unfortunately other than the air con, nearly every other service of the hotels was totally below a standard worth paying for. The breakfast was an "American Breakfast" that was not only poor quality but inconsiderately cooked. For example, the halal chicken nuggets were cooked and contained next to the bacon. I would have far preferred the breakfast to have suited its surroundings rather than being a tastless attempt at Western breakfasts. This may seem highly critical but considering that food is so cheap in bali in restaurants, it was dissapointing to be served such a low quality meal, every morning. It usually lead to us eating within an hour of leaving the hotel for the day.
Another criticism is that some of the hotel's front desk spoke little english and often did not explain the lack of cooperation as to why they couldnt perform certain services. 2 examples being that my laundry wasnt delivered and that they wouldnt lend us the dvd player advertised in the hotel without reason.
Frankly Im just honest that the hotel was placed closer to everything more edible and efficient.
Restaurant Tip:
Most restaurants are clubs on the main strip in kuta , and often have themes. Pay attention to their advertisements because often reggae night n brazil night for example, have cheaper drinks for longer hours.

Overall, it has been a nice stay at the hotel. The exterior design gives a very traditional bali culture feel, which is good! Yet the interior design is more of a modern kind. Toilet has hot shower. The hotel is also well located at Legian. Just one street away from all the hustle and bustle at night. Swimming pool is open at night too, so if you cant sleep, you could go for a swim. Morning breakfast needs a bit more variety though. It's practically the same boring standard stuff everyday. But it's cheap and value for money to book from Agoda, so i guess i shall not grumble about the breakfast. In addition, the room doors need a bit of fixing too.

When I blew a fuse in the room I recieved promt service regardless of the time of night to fix it. Location of the hotel is so central. If you have hired a car or bike tehre is room for parking. The noise of the nightclubs does not carry to the hotel.

For some reason my friend and I were upgraded to a family room for the first night however they were kind enough to leave us there for the whole week which was fabulous. The few interactions with Hotel staff were pleasant and they did everything I needed like fix my blown fuse. The staff delightful and unfortunately I didn't make it to breakfast this time at all, but if it is like last time it is very nice.
Restaurant Tip:
For a late night something to eat that is really yummy try Sky Garden on the left at the end of Gang Troppo (lane where the Hotel is) just on Jalan Legian.

Value for money
Good location as just 5 min walk you are right at the centre of most happening night life area.

This hotel located right at the centre of Legian Street. It just takes you 5 min walk to the centre of the most happening night life in Legian. It is quite value for money if you compare with the rest of the hotel around due with the strategies location. The disadvantage of the hotel was a bit noisy, we were awake by those whom pass through early in the morning and night.
Shopping Tip:
Careful of money changer, do go to those license money changer else you might got con.

The Dewi Sri was'nt too bad for the price as its one of the cheaper prices around. It would be good for young people or people on a budget. For those wanting a better than average place to stay it might be worth paying a bit more to stay somewhere else.

Overall a fantastic hotel and really good value for a family traveling on a budget. Close to Kuta Beach around a 10 min walk, shops, and local attractions. Hotel had a large swimming pool, hotel also has great air con and facilities. Taxi service was also good and fast from the hotel, organize your tours and money transfers from the hotel. Great deals for tours, very enjoyable stay at this hotel. highly recommended hotel for the budget conscious traveller or small family with kids.

I have stayed in the Dewi Sri many times and its a good value for money hotel when i am in Bali. The bar is open 24/7 and staff are always polite. Security is very Professional at all times and make you feel very safe
