The hotel itself has a terrific ambiance, it is a bit isolated from the main kuta area for partying or shopping. Its about a fifteen to twenty minutes taxi ride to the main part of Kuta. Excellent for couples on a honeymoon, definitely recommend the bungalows as opposed to the rooms. Nice pool and breakfast buffet.

Rooms are nice and big.

Overall a very lovely hotel, very quiet and peaceful and absolutely beautiful. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help, although not everybody speaks English very well so sometimes there is a language barrier. The location is decent-- it is right on the beach which is nice, but it is also pretty far from town and it takes quite a drive. They do provide a free shuttle, however, which is convenient.

The grounds were quite gorgeous. Very beautifully landscaped and a lovely pool. Nice that it was right on the beach as well. Very friendly staff. Provided two bottles of water daily.

A lot of ants and even lizards inside the rooms. The beach had a lot of hawkers and other sometimes bothersome people. Not too much choice for food. A little far from the centers of the town.

Relaxing by Sunset Guest Rating: 3.2

Reception was very friendly and helpful. Room service is very limited. Morning buffet offers a bit of all the flavors, but not the best quality. Pool facility as well the entire hotel complex in Bali style was very pleasant and the ambience provides a relaxing and peaceful holiday.

Sunset at the poolside with nice drinks and live music makes the end of the day and the start to the night. You'll be really satisfied.

Rooms are generous, but the staff don't respect your privacy and will clean the rooms if they think it is time for it- unacceptable! Also not really clean in the end.

Staff at the hotel were very friendly, though we found the hotel charges to be off-putting. One example was USD9 for a G/T; about twice the typical local price. The room rates were reasonable, but once there the charges were too high. Also, room services a little disappointing, eg no internet in our (deluxe sea view) room. Only available connection was at the 'business centre' for USD5/hour, about 7 times the local price. Hotel is on a nice little beach, but otherwise the immediate surroundings are not too pleasant. Our stay ended on slightly sour note when some cool baby clothes diappeared from our room. Hotel management were not too interested to hear about this and took no action.

Friendly staff, not too far from Semanyak restaurants, nice sea view.

Lack of services and expensive services. Location not great.

• Restaurant Tip : Check out the Warung Sobat, about 5 minutes walk along the (slightly treacherous) road away from the beach. Nice menu, good crowd usually.

Nice Hotel in remote location Guest Rating: 3.2

The hotel is very nice, calm and clean. It is the ideal spot for people who just want to stay in the hotel during the holidays. For us it was too calm. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Unfurtunately there are no other restaurants or bars close to the hotel so that you are depended on the hotel restaurant. The food there is ok, but for my taste the indonesian food there is too much westernized. The beach is dirty and needs some cleaning up.

Quiet spot

Affordable Beach Stop Guest Rating: 3.0

It is a nice hotel but a lot more attention must be made on the little things to make a customer say, "that was nice of them". On our third day there a fruit basket appeared, I thought that was nice of them, but what about the other two days? If you are looking for an affordable place outside of the Legian Kuta area that is on the beach that is comfortable and has most amenities then this is a place. If you are after that extra 20% Then it's not.

• Restaurant Tip : There is a restaurant not far from the hotel on the left hand side as you leave the hotel called Warung Sobak. It has great food but some items need to be ordered in advance (24 hours).

We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Balisani. Located right on the beach, but swimming there would not be advised as it has very strong currents

What a disappointment Guest Rating: 2.8

Here's hoping that building is finished quickly and that prices will be set realistically.
