Good hotel except for location

Our first experience was not good after finding out we had to book into one room and then change the next day. As we had already moved hotels we were just looking forward to settling in so that was disapointing. Also the cost of an extra bed is extreme. $35. Considering a whole room is $41 a night it dosn't really add up. At the last place it was $18 including breakfast.
Then we had to put down $100 deposit per room (3) which we didn't know about.
Changing rooms became a massive issue also for my son who was in the highest and furtherest room from the front of the hotel. That became too hard to worry about. He would have paid for an upgrade.
When we got into our room we found it to be really nice. We had rooms and which were really big. Our friends were in the 500's and they were alot smaller. We had beds in one room and there was an interconnecting door which worked out well as we wern't expecting that. The bathrooms are beautiful with separate bath and shower. The air conditioning was either cold or off as the temp didn't adjust well. Kids room a/c leaked the whole time. Ours started dripping but they fixed it straight away. Fixed the kids too but that only lasted a day. We got free beer vouchers and meal vouchers but we didn't use them. The music in the bar is way too loud. Night club loud so not suitable to sit with beer and a catchup of an evening. We also got a free watersport voucher and a sunset photo voucher.
Almost everyday they have a free activity. We did the language lessons, coconut climbing and mad some great stuff and then did the traditional dancing constume dress up. These were great and add a great touch to the hotel.
The pool is great. They could have a few more deck chairs as there was ony about 25 or less all up. It was a really relaxing atmosphere.
The people are really friendly and always greet you when passing. Reception was mostly good apart from 1 particular one who I found extremely hard to communicate with.

Receptionist like not new staff. Diff service to diff race. Service boy (uncle) had provided me good service. Room accessory was old (air-con, shower ...). But this hotel free one dinner meat to per person and a beer. I very love this hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
better find a car to bali trip a day is only 500,000 IDR.

This hotel is very nice. Only draw back is the food and drinks at the pool and in the restaurant are expensive. Much cheaper to eat and drink elsewhere. Apart from that letting the hotel down, the swimming pool is great, the staff are friendly, the grounds are very clean and nicely kept, the rooms are a delight, clean and spacious, its a 10 min walk to Kuta square, the beach is across the road, waterbom park is 12 min walk. The nightlife is 10 min walk, hence its very centrally located. Best to walk to get food, massages are cheaper a little further down the street.. but all in all a good hotel.
Nightlife Tip:
Watch out for the cocktails at bounty hotel, they are cheap but deadly, great night out.

Although hotel claim free massage every day for 30 minutes BUT most of the time staff of massage NOT available as they always claim that they are busy with others. Hotel must have sufficient staff to cater requirement of guest.
