nice hotel - but overpriced

we upgraded our room as the deluxe ocean view was too small to share with our 13year old daughter.
everything at this hotel cost extra and everything is considerably cheaper everywhere else.
although very nice - the size of the hotel meant that no matter how polite the staff were you knew that they didnt know you. this is certainly a hotel for people that like staying in a big hotel - we preferred the more personal touch of the puri santrian.
The restaurant on the beach was just affordable - which was surprising given its better location than the main hotel. I would imagine having dinner on the beach would also be very romantic - but not something for us with our 13yo!
Like most hotels - the pool is not as large as it appears in the photos, but still was enjoyable.
with the minibar prices this is definately a hotel to stock your fridge up from the nearby shops - something i dont normally bother doing in bali
Restaurant Tip:
most of the nearby restaurants offer very similar menus - ask what they will throw in before entering as they will all offer something.

Very nice hotel for families. We went without our kids and wish we would have known it was so family driven. Rooms were very spacious and would definitely spend the extra money on upgrading to Oceanview. Great location with plenty to do outside of the hotel too.
Restaurant Tip:
Green Leaf Restaurant has great food, entertainment and the best of all the food was 1/3 third of the cost than hotel.

We had booked a suite but were given an unrenovated room with small tv, we complained and were given a renovated room with plasma tv, why werent we given the better room initially. OUr new room was beautiful!!

Awesome hotel
The room and the grand entrance puts a big smile on my face !!

The stay at Grand Mirage was simple awesome, we were greeted with a free upgrade of room (Deluxe -> Suite) and the room is very comfortable compared to the hotel nearby which i've stayed in.
The beach is nicely maintained and the landscaping is better than the hotel next door.
The only thing that i was not so happy about is that they have flies flying around the breakfast buffet area which annoys me
