Hotel looked promising from the outside. The layout is a bit confusing. We were allocated a room at ground level (with very bad wifi), but had to walk up some steps to the next higher floor before going down again. The room was small and basic, with no drinking glasses or fridge provided. The horizontal narrow glass slits, oddly placed above head height, did not allow us any view at all, just some light. It felt very claustrophobic. The walls were thin and/or not well soundproofed, as we could hear clearly people walking and talking (loudly) in the corridoor. In our dealings, the staff were not very friendly and even seemed disinterested. Not one of our recommended hotels

This was my second time staying at Grandmas Hotels in Seminyak. When I stay in Bali, it is only for a night or two, on my way through to another island. I'm looking for a comfortable, quiet, inexpensive place to rest on my journey and to have access to the beach. I find the staff friendly and helpful. The location is excellent for the price (just a block from the beach and not far removed from a mix of upscale clothing boutiques and inexpensive gift shops).
