Lovely garden atmosphere, excellent pools (one with swim-up bar), quiet beach, clean rooms. Variety of comfortables places to sit.
Manicures & pedicures provided by hotel too expensive & not very professional. Water in the new pool at the rear too warm.
We have stayed at Griya Santrian about 15 times now and would not be interested in staying elsewhere. We seldom eat dinner in the hotel restaurant as there is an abundance of excellent (and much cheaper!) restaurants nearby. The setting is great and the staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of hot water (not always the case in other places we have stayed). The main pool with its swim-up bar is a winner! Everything spotlessly clean.
Restaurant Tip : Try Lumut, a 10 min walk out to the front of the hotel and turn left. Or Kami Sama, face the beach, turn left, a 2 min walk - cheap but good.

Beautiful gardens and swimming pools, great service and very friendly staff
could have been a little more clean
The gardens are exceptionally beautiful with statues and fish ponds, three swimming pools very nicely designed. The rooms are spacious and quiet. However, after changing our room , in the new room the bathroom was very tiny and the door openend inwards! They could put in more furniture though, we had only one chair. Great room service too, excellent breakfast. The sea water is very shallow but there are times, when the tide comes in, that the water is up to your neck and you can have a decent swim.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : It appears a lot of money $ 25 to go snorkling on a glass boat, but it is worth it.

Great location.good beach,went for a swim.Great pool bar.Good size balconies.
would be good if one of the pools was adults only.
This was the last of 5 resorts we stayed in this trip.Always love the peace & slower pace of Sanur.Love the beach & being able to swim. The walkway makes for an easy stroll to shopping & eating out.Griya has great pools & gardens. Was great to have a walk in shower instead of the usual shower over the bath.Great balconies but would have liked a daybed on it!
Restaurant Tip : Bonsai on the beach, never fail with the mixed satay's

clean and comfortable with an luxurious atmosphere
not much nightlife, swimming not really possible in the sea
If you want to relax and receive a luxourious treatment this is the place to be. Although the nightlife at Sanur is not really existing we enjoyed our evenings with a drink overlooking the sea and finally come to relax. The pools are great, the rooms are superb, staff is very friendly and helpfull and the breakfast is a feast. After a week the dining card becomes a bit boring however, Sanur offers plenty of other locations to enjoy your dinner.

Very friendly front desk
Good location on a nice beach, plenty of shops and restaurants nearby
Clean, well decorated rooms (in the Beach Wing where we stayed).
Free coffee and water
Good pool
Room was somewhat dark. No hot water in the bathroom sink (but shower was ok).
Niggly annoyances - some unhelpful staff, "thou shalt not" notices, etc
In general, lack of character and the luxury touches one would expect for this price.
This is a largeish production-line hotel for the tourist market., this was the most expensive hotel we stayed in on our 2009 vacation but certainly not the best, so we don't regard it as good value for money. In fairness this was peak season price (we only chose it because many other hotels were full), and there is nothing major wrong with the hotel apart from the price.
We didn't eat there so ignore the food/dining rating.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Great jogging path along the beach

- front beach
- boutique hotel
- old forniture
- pool bar expensive
- very complicated to have towel for the pool (card system)
I expected more from this hotel at least for that i spent. Although staff was very kind, the room are old and without personality. The hotel outside is a boutique and in the night light look very elegant but it seems a bad mix between ordinary family resort and boutique elegant hotelin front the beach is not so good: impossible to swim, but this happen almost in alla bali

- beautifully appointed rooms and very clean
- prompt room service
- friendly staff
We were given superb service and an unexpected but very welcome upgrade to a Santrian suite upon our late arrival at 12.45am. The staff were extremely friendly and the garden setting just divine. The Griya Santrian is centrally located and so close to all shops, restaurants and supermarket.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hire a bike for the day from the hotel and enjoy cycling the beachfront path. You will discover so much more.

Old garden villas, no water sports available, beach is just for view
We have stayed four night in Griya Santrian Hotel at Sunor beach in Bali. Hotel is a resort type with large garden, three swimming pool (one large + two small). Two type of rooms available, sea villa and garden villa. Sea villa is two story villa and seem to be quite nice and fairly new as well. Of course price is around 20% more than garden villas. On the other hand, garden villas are individual one in Balinese styling but urgent need of renovation. Especially for bathroom and toilets are worn out with toilet flash does not work properly. Hotel staffs are OK but they could be more helpful and responsive like many other hotels in Bali. Service is Pool bar is worse; you will not get you drinks if you do not follow up and check. Beach in front of the hotel is great view but just stop from there. You can not swim in this beach because too shallow with too may rocks.

Beachside, pool bar, free Yoga, BBQ night, lively, friendly staff
Nice location for the hotel, with the pool and restaurant overlooking the beach. Nice pool bar, so you can swim up for a cold Bintang. Easy access to the beach walkway, so you can stroll up and sample the other restaurants and bars. Spa was located in the centre of the hotel, looked great but the staff here weren't the best (better spas elsewhere), plus it's next to the pool table, so you can hear people shooting pool while you're trying to relax!

Great setting, the grounds and gardens are beautiful
Fantastic, friendly staff.
Two great restaurants, with really good pizza!
Sand on hotel room floor when we arrived.
Tea/coffee tray had used packets in it
fridge wasn't cold enough even when turned up to full.
I have never stayed at such a good resort. It is located right on Sanur beach, the pool setting is great with a small cascading waterfall that flows into it. I would suggest the pool because the sea has lice and you get bitten when you swim in it.
Our room was a beach wing suite. I think we were upgraded. The room was huge!, the bed was a little noisy though and creaked.
The bathroom was clean and looked as if it had recently had new fittings installed and the air conditioner was really good.
The restaurants are great although you get charged 20% on top of your order, (10% tax and 10% service fee). I think the service fee is a little high. I much prefer tipping the staff where appropriate.
The grounds were meticulously maintained each morning.
I would like to stay here in the future for longer, I didn't want to leave!
Restaurant Tip : Don't dine at ribs over the road. Out of all the restaurants we ate at this was very average.

Good position, close to good restaurants, nice beach area.
No safety deposit box in room, staff not overly friendly, couldn't get a sundeck.
Good location, bit disappointed when we arrived, thought we would be able to view the ocean from our beach wing room, but unfortunately no, room large and clean, no safety deposit box in beach wing room, a little inconvenient. Staff seemed more interested in the return guests. Very hard to get sundecks and staff unwilling to remove unused towels even after hours of non-use. Quite location, good for a great night's sleep. Well kept grounds, great aromotherapy massage at hotel.
Close to good restaurants. Hard to get a good seat at hotel's set dinners, regulars seem to get priority.
Restaurant Tip : Had a great breakfast at Mona Lisa's which is just outside the front gate to the hotel.

The pool's, the Location in Sanur, most of the staff is friendly and helpfull, great breakfast buffet and food in general, new houses/rooms are top quality
No internet in the rooms or at least a hot-spot, Hotel mangement should treat all guests equal and don't lie to the customers, keep sales people /drivers off the hotel grounds, some of the old rooms could need a little refurbish, hotel restaurant food is a little expensive compared to the quality
My Family and I (2 young kids + 2 adults)stayed at the Griya Santrian during the Christmas days of 2008. We had a good time and enjoyed the 3 pools that the hotel has to offer, the food and the location right on the Beach in Sanur. Most of the staff was friendly and helpfull and did a very good job. The hotel location in Sanur is good for exploring the Island of Bali + if you are a family with young/small kids the hotel is in the quite part of Bali so all can relax and enjoy Bali without getting stressed out...We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel !!!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Drive to the Pura Ulu Watu Temple and enjoy the coastline, the tempel and the monkeys. See the Ricefields near Ubud and Swim with the Dolphins in Lovina
