Good location next to great food spots and close to the main drags. Nice staff. Comfortable bed. TV and DVD were nice additions.
Bathroom wasn't great. Expensive car/driver rates.
We had a nice stay at Vila Lumbung. It wasn't perfect, but overall a good stay. The location while off the main drag was actually really good because it was close to a bunch of great food joints. The staff was friendly and the service was good. A nice hotel, although it could use some touching up. The worst part was probably the bathroom. There wasn't an actual shower, so you had to hold the detachable shower head over your head to use it as shower. Also, there was a open air ventilation area in the bathroom that allowed mosquitoes to come into the room. The ventilation area also connected the bathroom to the hallway so everyone could hear you and you could hear everyone - Not the best.
Restaurant Tip : Close to La Lucciola, Bali Catering Company and Warung Kolega which are all really yummy. We didn't get a chance to try Sarong, but wanted to.

Clean and Tidy, good hotel
The Location, is very bad, on a busy Road, no great restaurants in walking distance, road busy, not very safe.
A curtsey bus to take you and pick you up to more than one place.
Very expensive min bar, a large bottle of water cost 60.000 rp
The Location, is very bad, on a busy Road, no great restaurants in walking distance, road busy, not very safe.Would not go there again because of the location.
Restaurant Tip : Goodr Breakfast

Excellent, friendly Staff, beautiful pools, tropical gardens, wonderful outdoor massages and fine dining. A piece of heaven. Very relaxing atmosphere.
Room cleaning (bathroom benches) removal of empty bottles and replacement of sugar / coffee etc. needs to be improved.
On arrival late at night to this beautifully lite oasis, we were greeted by the friendly staff and given welcome drinks. We were escorted around the pools through tropical gardens to our superior rooms. We had a king size bed and our daughters in a connecting room had singles. The first morning one of our daughters was not well and missed breakfast so the staff sent food over to her room. We dined on many occassion in the restaurant and the meals were beautiful with a great choice on the menu.(I would not recommend Rack of Lamb still uncooked). The restaurant staff treated everyone as if they were special, child and adult alike. The staff at the front desk were very informative and helped booked tours. The pools and paths were kept very clean especially with the trees dropping leaves and flowers. Of a night the lighting in the gardens and around the pool makes a magical atmosphere. The bathroom needed a overhead shower (had a hand held shower head but the stand was down with the taps, benches and taps needed cleaning and empty water bottles and rubbish should have been removed daily (often wasn't) and the replacement of milk, sugar, coffee in rooms. we went and bought our own.
I took sick, the front desk organized a Doctor he was there with a nurse within 20 minutes, gave me an injection, medication very professional.
Restaurant Tip : Nirvana Restauant in eat street was beautiful and not expensive. Free welcome drinks and spring rolls on arrival.Staff is excellent and the owner very friendly speaking with all patrons.

Big rooms, lovely pool, reasonably quiet from street noise if you get a room at the back.
Pool table in the foyer . People play on this all night, and if you are in villa 1 or 8 you can hear the clicking of the balls.
Spacious rooms, great outdoor bathrooms. Problem with some villas is that they are very noisy if you have a room near the lobby. Several large groups came through in buses and you hear the sound of a diesel engine running for half an hour if you are in a room backing onto the carpark. We had a room near the lobby and several groups of children played pool until midnight, with a huge amount of noise. We were told by other guests that they had also complained about the noise from the pool table. Curtains are very thin, with the sun waking you up at first light. The swimming pool area is great, breakfast just average, aimed at package tours, very friendly and helpful staff for restaurant bookings.
Hotel Feature Tip : get a seat early if you want to use the pool, people reserve them by putting books and towels on them and then leave them empty for hours.

Great location, great rooms, good food, great service
Needs some repair before it starts looking down in the dumps
I love Villa Lumbung! I have been staying here for the last four years and have enjoyed every stay. Once you arrive at Villa Lumbung all the city life disappears and you are in this little village of wonderful lumbung villas (two story so you can stay upstairs or down) with a beautiful pool with waterfall. You can sit and have breakfast outside in their cafe and if you are lucky it will rain. It is beautiful when it rains. The service you get is wonderful. Everyone is very friendly and eager to help you without expecting any tip. You can choose a wonderful room downstairs in one of the villas which will have a kitchen and a fabulous outside bathroom with tub! A glass of wine at night in the tub - great except they need to figure out how one can sit without sliding down! If you have another person you can manage but you could still need some help. The room in the upstairs villa has a wonderful balcony that overlooks the grounds and does not have a kitchen. There are other lovely rooms in the new building at a lesser rate which are good also. Couples and famlies alike will enjoy this experience and you are very close to many restaurants and shopping out of the mad tourist traps of Kuta!
Restaurant Tip : There are two really good Delis in walking distance with great cappucino!!

clean, in a quiet area of seminyak with a nice swimming pool.
Vila Lumbung is the only place we stayed in seminyak so I cannot tell you if it has a good ratio quality/price compare to other hotel.
Meanwhile the hotel was nice and clean, we had a room away from the swimming pool which was super quiet and that was what we needed. The location is good, it is easy to go around in seminyak in taxi and they all know this vila. Breakfast buffet is great, good selection with fresh fruits.
All in all we had a good time there

We were very pleased with our stay.
The staff was very courteous and offered a lot of tips on places to see. The property was well maintained. Loved the seafood dinners they offered. The breakfasts provided a wide variety of items. Loved the outdoor bathroom. We were very pleased with our decision to stay there.

Great location, good staff, decent food, good pool, and good rooms
Over the past four years we have seen the hotel get a little tired. The owners need to do repairs so the hotel does not completely loose its charm. They need to keep with the look also instead of putting in new items like they have done with the bars stools they have put in. They are totally out of place.
We have been going to Villa Lumbung for the last four years and have always enjoyed our stay. It is so close to shops, food stores, laundry, and very easy to walk out and get a taxi. The pool is great, the restaurant is good and the places to stay are wonderful if they start cleaning them up a little better. I have seen them get worn down over the years and this is a shame. They have a lot of business but I see it slowing down if they don't keep up the repairs.
Restaurant Tip : Right outside the gate on the main road if you turn left there is a parking lot for a great Japanese type restaurant across the street. I highly reccomend it.

Great rooms, great pool, great staff, good food, great location.
place needs some upkeep. They also need to get rid of the "new bar stools" and replace them with some that go more with the look of the hotel otherwise it will start to get looking very tacky
A great touch of Bali living right in the middle of Seminyak. It is close to shopping, night life and great hotels which cost a lot more. The beach is close if you want that or you can sit out by the hotel pool which is one of the best laid out pools of any hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful without expecting a tip everytime you turn around. I have been staying at this hotel for the last four years and would highly reccomend it even though it needs to be shaped up a little before it gets really run down.
Restaurant Tip : La Ochiolo (sp??) is a great restaurant on the beach close by. A great place to watch the sunset. Make reservations.

very good value for money
nothing really. breakfast could be improved but ok for the price.
This relatively small hotel combines very nice setting, pleasant pool. It is in a quiet area t, and no too far from the center of Seminyak (1USD cab drive). reasonable price for the area of Seminyak. Rooms are very clean and staff is friendly. It offers also very good massages at the small spa in the garden

Nice Pool, big villa and very comfortable. Friendly staff
could have a bit more crockery, glasses in the villa. We had 6 people ( 3 adults and 3 kids) and only 1 bowl. Not many glasses either. it is also a bit far out. on the very edge of Seminyak.
Hotel Vila Lumbung is a beautiful, quiet, small hotel. The deluxe bungalow is very comfortable and spacious. There is a pool table in the foyer which is well patronised and a lovely pool with 3 different levels including a bar level. However, if you want to be able to step outside the hotel and be in the hustle and bustle of shopping this is not the place. It is a little removed from that although very close to lots of good restaurants. Also you will need a taxi to the beach.
Restaurant Tip : Sarong is about 2 min walk away and is sensational.

Villa style mixed with normal rooms
pool cloudy, Roofing needing repairs
This is a great medium sized botique hotel in the villa style. It also has two three storey blocks comprising traditional hotel rooms. The hotel is well located in Seminyak within easy walking distance of many good resturants. I recommend Cafe Bonita for a great traditional Bali curry.
The only real issue we had was with the internet connection provided in the business center - they charge 1000 ruphia/minute and the system is unusably slow.
Restaurant Tip : Bonita resturant in highly recommended

Great big garden and pool.
No beach near by, must walk about 1km to have access to beach.
Nice staff, nice rooms and good overall garden and pool area. Close by, there are a few retaurants and warungs for you to try a few different dining options aside from the hotel.
Nightlife Tip : Get a motor bike to travel around - great eating/ding/shopping areas within 1 to 2 kms loop from the hotel. Right outside the hotel is warung Eny - great local food, made fresh when ordered.

The room ( downstairs-bungalow) was very nice with an outdoor bathroom including separate bath and shower in a private garden. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. The breakfast buffet is good; but maybe somewhat limited for some (we found it fine). We were traveling with a 1 1/2 year old , so the hotel provided a nice baby bed and with the separate room of the bungalow. Nice internet cubicle and mini bar in room charges the same as the restaurant (nice). The location is somewhat away from shopping.. although a few good restaurants within walking distance.
Again away from easy walk to shopping (similar to Sanur...we like Tuban much better as a location). The fitness room was dismal at best, bicycle and StairMaster..no machines or free weights.
Vila Lumbung was a nice value for the price with a great staff. Always easy to get a transport to where ever with a charge of 50000 rupiah (~ 5 USD). The hotel is very baby and children friendly. If you like Seminyak area, this is a good selection... if you like to walk to shopping or not into the clubbing or Bule Gila (crazy foreigner)scene, you may like Tuban, Legian, or Ubud better. We would certainly recommend this hotel.
Restaurant Tip : Mades Warung in Seminyak is great..very close to the restaurant ~ 100 meter is a nice restaurant called warung bebek (duck) that is great.
