Spacious rooms, with even DVD and choice of free films. Beautyful building.
Very friendly staff.
Free bikes and scooters for rent.
Good food, quite affordable lunch and dinner, good value for money.
Bath could do with some refurbishing, warm water not always plenty to fill the large tub...
The hotel is too far from Ubud to walk, but provides a regular shuttle service to compensate.
Sounds from the pool when some use it very late may disturb those who try to sleep.
We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the hotel and the good cooking. You can eat in the hotel and save a trip to Ubud. The distance to Ubud can be bridged by the young and strong by means of a bicycle. Use of a bicycle is for free, but the ride up to the hotel is quite heavy for un-trained bicyclists. Better use the shuttle when your fysical condition is not tops, this works good, last ride up to the hotel is at 10 pm.
We had also much fun with the scooter we rented. Driving around on Bali is easy and the roads are mainly in good condition.
This hotel is good value for money, except maybe for those who are very sensitive for sound. The sounds of guests moving through the hotel and some chanting from the nearby temple can sometimes be heard in the room.
Over all I would recommend this hotel, it has a very nice atmosphere because of its friendly staff. The building is special in its native style , with water flowing through the lower floor.

Quiet and cozy environment
Clean and good breakfast
Rice field view from the room
Some distance away from Ubud central area
small pool
Junjungan is a nice and cozy place to stay. The room overlook the rice field and you can see the ducks on the field in the morning. A good place to relax though it is some distance from the Ubud central. For the price, it is quite value for money. The breakfast is quite nice and portion is sufficient. Service from staff is quite good. Hotel provide free shuttle at designated time to Ubud central.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Can visit Pegulan village (village of white heron) from here. It is about 10mins by bike.

Outlook of the hotel: 10/10
Just Perfect!!
Interior: 8.5/10
Design is nice and the bath tub is really big. However the ceiling are too high. Thus, the rooms are not really cold.
Environment: 8/10
The is a nice padi field just behind our hotel. From the balcony, we can have a really good view. However, the room are not sound proof. Thus, if your neighbor slightly talks too loudly or switch on the TV to a higher volume, you will be able to hear it. If you are a light sleeper, you may be awaken by the duck from the padi fields and music from somewhere at 6+am.
Services: 10/10
As there are only 10 rooms in the hotel, the staffs really take good care of our needs. They are also very friendly. We went to the whirlpool at 11pm and they open it for us upon our request. We had also requested for forks, and bowls etc as we had packed local food back to the hotel. The staffs delivered the items to us within mins.
Spa: 9/10
The SPA is good and cheap. Prices ranges from around 126,000 – 32,000 Rupiah(excluding tax). Must try!
Breakfast: 8.5/10
Breakfast have to be selected one day in advance. It will be delivered to our door step at our preferred timing. Portion and food is nice.
Recommended!!!
The only bad thing about the hotel is that the rooms are not sound proof. Thus, you may be awaken by slighly loud noises, tv from neighbours and ducks from the padi fields.
I will recommended this hotel to my friends who wish to have a getaway from work and stay close to nature. Only in Ubud then you are able to find nice padi fields with farmers. Nice exterior and interior designed hotel. The only bad thing about the hotel is that the rooms are not sound proof. Thus, you may be awaken by slighly loud noises, tv from neighbours and ducks from the padi fields.

Very nice staff. Clean and spacious room. Great ricefield view.
a little noizy from the AC's when we were sitting at the terrace, but no big deal. We got a massage in the spa, and i must admit, we were a bit disappointed. The massage was not very good. Felt more like just get rubbed in oil. But in all fairness, we are used to get very good massage from our own private masseur, sooo.
We went to Ubud for a charity event, and stayed at this hotel for a weekend. We got our room for a very affordable price, and it was very good value for the money. The Hotel staff is very friendly and helpfull, and the rooms are big and cozy. Very big Bathtub, which was so cool to sink into after a busy day. It is a bit far outside Ubud, but it was no problem for us, because we had our own transportation (Bikes). The view over the ricefields from our terrace was amazing. Specially the sunset. We had a great time there, and will come there again for sure.
Restaurant Tip : Dinner at Cafe des Artistes in Jalan Bisma is always the best.

Friendly staff, good service, clean environment, value for Money.
location (a bit far away from centre),
We stay 2 nights at the Junjungan Bali Hotel And Spa. That's the hotel we are satisfy the most of our trip. When we check in at 10pm, we still get the warmest welcome with cool tower & drinks!
You can select the breakfast served in-room or at the restaurant (We have it at restaurant, enjoy our BBF in the nature environment).
And the staff is very friendly and efficient.
Even we request to swim at the mid-night, they also prepare everything (tower & pool light) immediately.
But that's not so good that the free shuttle bus is not so frequently (only 4 schedule per day) and the car for drive out to centre is cost 30,000IDR, we think is a bit expensive.

located in a quiet and far away from the city area. totally service oriented. money's value. morning view from the hotel and a walk behind the hotel is a photographers paradise. smartly constructed hotel. expect to be treated with a great breakfast.....and order lunch or dinner in advance which will be cooked fresh and served...with a smiling face..
lighting in the room is dull...( for us young couple its absolutely fine, but people may find it too dim and lazy )...but jus inform the hotel in advance and the lighting issue will be taken care of...
we booked junjungan hotel online and never new of the hotel by pictures but the reviews gave us some confidence on the hotel. only when we arrived in the night and woke up next day to a misty morning we realised how simple, yet beautiful - hotel junjungan is.
lovely and extremely friendly staff...what amazed me is the kind of promptness the staff showed for every request and the service rendered at different places in the hotel ( calm n cool receptionsits, great cooks and spa staff ) .swimming pool is not as what is reviewed on the agoda site as small and not big enough.its a pool great enough for a small holiday hotel like junjungan and i thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed evenings by the pool.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : donot forget to hire the bicycles which are provided free by the hotel and explore the near by village in the mornings.
the paddy fields behind the hotel is a photographers paradise. the best time is at 6am in the morning. check out the market at monkey forest for shopping which is jus 20 minutes from the hotel.

Staying in Junjungan Hotel makes me feel at home. With only 10 rooms, lots of privacy anywhere I go. Be in the pool,at the restaurant or having a massage, most of the time, I am alone. Hotel staffs are very friendly.Communicating in english is not a problem with front desk. Good view overlooking rice field.
Its quite a distance to Ubud center for me but sometimes I manage to catch the Hotel free shuttle service schedule provided.
Bali-Ubud is a village about an hour drives from the airport. It is predominantly Hindu island full of adventure. People are friendly and safe. The good thing I experience in places where there are soliciting and begging, they stay put where they are even if I contribute, I don't get surrounded by them.
This is my first time travelling stayed in Junjungan Hotel with only a few rooms and I begin to love it with no waiting time to waste. Services are fast, facilities are always available and I always feels the peacefulness of the environment.

Wonderful small hotel with beautiful use of natural materials (stone/s, wood, plants and water) that is quiet and restful.
Noise between rooms can be heard.
I booked for 3 nights & stayed 6 as it was just the place to relax & recharge. Junjungan hotel offers a very calm, attentive (but not invasive) and friendly environment. The pool isn't big but it's lovely and was rarely used by others when I visited. The balcony views of the rice paddy fields and daily life are very relaxing and many hours can be spent just watching the ducks. Being rice paddies there is constant sounds of water which can be soothing. Noise can be heard between rooms and unfortunately one night I had a neighbour that had the TV going until after 3am ! The transfer service into Ubud worked well and the hotel was very accommodating on my last day storing luggage, allowing access to the pool, bikes and facilities until I needed to leave early in the evening. If you want to be away from the business of Ubud and be touched by the beauty of Bail and it's people this place is ideal.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Bike ridding: I did a tour with Budaya tour (Bali eco) after breakfast at Mt Batur it was on the bike for 3 hours back to Ubud. Great trip and very informative friendly guides. After that into I used the free bikes at Junjungan to explore the back streets in the area and Ubud. Also the Monday night dancing at Junjungan is well worth seeing, the exit and seeing the beautifully dressed girls take off on their motor bikes was delightful too.

Isolated from the hub of Ubud.
Friendly staff.
Luxurious massive rooms.
The isolation meant that getting into Ubud was an issue. Room service and meals need to be pre-ordered.
Also, being next to padi fields, there are mosquitoes at night.
Very quiet and comfortable. I enjoyed just sitting out on the balcony looking at the padi fields. With respect to the cons, there is a free hotel shuttle every four hours or so but in between these times, you have to pay for a cab which costs 40,000 rupiah one way. Ubud town is walkable if you are willing to spend 1 hour on foot.
With regards to the mosquitoes, the rooms are fully air conditioned plus they come with a DVD player. I bought some DVD's and watched them in my room! Perfect budget entertainment!!

Charming small hotel but full of detail like a 4 star hotel or resort, unexpected that this hotel can do for those .
Bathroom was perfected for hot and cold water, Room was simply decorated but perfect and agree with field view under current water sounds.
Photo was not enough for decide to make reservation ,or may be not nice enough cause the truth of hotels inside is better than photo, though swimming pool is not large enough for some visitor but for me it's not any problem. If the hotel can move bed and armchair to the new corner that seeing rice field view it's should be most perfect.
If i had chance to go to Ubud in the near future , I will stay at this lovely and charming hotel again though it's far from main Ubud 3.5 Kms but shuttle bus was managed.
Every officer was polite and nice with their smiling face. Hotel's area was not too large area but having wide suitable room for everyone who need to stay after their travel around. Great thing that can't forget to say is " when main Ubud was dark from electric switch off but Electricity of Nice Junjungang can work , Amazing !!!!
Nightlife Tip : when u go for dinner or for nightlife please make sure that timing was agreed with shuttle bus time schdule and asking officer thier about chance of electricity working time, as i wasn't prepare for those ,that cause our group missed some schedule for Ubud night.

Very peaceful, helpful staff, great massages, away from the hustle & bustle of Ubud set amongst the paddy fields
not within walking distance of Ubud though hotel did provide 5 free transfers per day at set times
We enjoyed a great 3 days relaxing at this hotel and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The hotel has only 10 rooms which makes it feel very individual, each with huge bathtubs and views over the surrounding paddy fields and the staff are very helpful. The hour long massage is highly recommended! If you want peace and relaxation with a little pampering for a few days then this hotel is definitely one to choose - I'd happily stay there again.
Restaurant Tip : Try the 'Tropical' restaurant on Monkey Forest Road in Ubud - the food is fantastic, staff very attentive and well presented and they have a fresh display of seafood daily.

Peaceful, beautiful rooms, clean, beautiful location, fabulous staff, intimate atmosphere, great value, sensational massages in the spa.
We arrived in Junjungan in the early evening to find this beautiful little gem. We were greated on arrival with hot Ginger and lemongrass tea (yummy) and face cloths to freshen up after our journey. We travelled with our two daughters, 2 years and our youngest 7 months, the staff were great with them. There is a unique wooden staircase which leads over the stream (which runs through the hotel (hard to explain, but just lovely) and if travelling with young children you need to pay extra attention as some of the gaps between the banisters are rather wide. However this posed no problem on our stay and would in no way change our decision to stay there again. The menu was small but whenever we ate there it was always well presented, freshly cooked and tasted great. You do need to order your food 3 hours in advance, as the staff need time to buy the ingredients in Ubud and prepare your food to order, we thought this was great as you knew your food was fresh. There was a free shuttle service several times throughout the day to and from Ubud which we thought was great, only took 10 to 15 minutes and the driver would pick you up whenever you liked for an extra 30000 if it was outside the scheduled shuttle times. We went for a few walks around the village and watched the farmers harvest the rice, and attended the Kecak fire dance at the local temple which was amazing and a real highlight within our trip. We found that even with a baby and a toddler, we were able to relax and enjoy our peaceful surroundings here. There is also a small pool which you pretty much had to yourselves during the day as most guests would leave to go to Ubud. Overall this hotel was stunning, we enjoyed it so much we have decided to stay next year. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to see the real Bali, relax and prefers to be out of the touristy environment.
Hotel Feature Tip : The spa is wonderful and great value, make sure you book a massage!

- view on rice terasses
- relatively low price
- competent personnel
- affordable spa
- a few km distance from the city
The Hotel is build over a small river in rice fields, which is very pitoresk (You should not have fear of height).
We stayed in the deluxe studio room: very big. The airco was good enough to cool a part of the room. But the nights were even cool enough to do without. Fairly dark rooms due to the tinted windows. Big bath that also serves as shower.
The rooms and all basic facilities are very clean except the curtain in the bathroom (mould) and the moskito net (some tears).
The Hotel was quiet. But due to the traditional building (positive: fresh air), there is not much noise damping. The noise level depends on your neighbors.
Delicious diner, but you have to order a day in advance. The same for the breakfast where there is enough choice for several days.
Free bike, which were too short for tall people.
Good, affordable spa.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Make a bycycle trip on your own. Avoid main streets. Best to buy a map in advance.

service good, nice surroundings, very traditional nice room
not so near shopping area, small swimming pool
its a nice little hotel located in a green rice fields which is about 15mins driving from the UBUD MAIN STREET. the room is very traditional and nice Balinese style, with flower and welcome fruits. you can enjoy the rice field and local people at the balcony.
but must go by the hotel shuttle bus if you want to go to UBUD or other shopping area, no restaurant, no shops, no entertainment, only the hotel alone. swimming pool is very small.
but hotel staff is quite friendly and food nice at the hotel. you can enjoy your breakfast at your room with no extra charge.
