Great Location
Swimming Pool
I was given a room with a lower and different types of rooms given when i earlier confirmation by phone in early December. No front office personnel who served, there was only confusion janitor when I decline a given room. The bedrooms and bathrooms are not clean. Our room smelled of damp. The fan sounds noisy. Coffee and tea are provided free of charge 24 hours at the pool side. Breakfast is a la carte with standard flavors. All staffs are friendly and courteous. The hotel is situated in the middle of the forest. The pool is quite wonderful to have the edge directly adjacent to the forest.

Lovely Cottage Environment
Excellent service, friendly, helpful and always with a smile
Nice cosy cottage setting to relax. Pleasant surrounding. Service from the staff is excellent, friendly and polite. Some improvements like a bigger writing table and lamp for those who have to work on the computer. Also a hot vaccum flask in the room so that there isn't a problem when it rains since the hot water is near the poolside area.

Excellent hotel in Jungle Book vibe
Excellent location and helpful staff
We booked at the Matahari Cottages for 2 nights and have enjoyed our stay. Location is excellent with a short walk to the crowded Monkey Forest rd and the lively city centre. The breakfast is soso (what's in those fruit juices?) but really, for a good breakfast you shouldn't count on the hotel but walk down the little lane towards Kue bakery and chill on the 1st floor. Swimming pool is pleasant and the fact that the accomodation is placed in the middle of a forest gives a proper jungle vibe to your stay. Our room was spacious and relatively clean, also clean towels were provided each day.

disappointing, not the standard expected for price
good location, that's all
Have been sent to an other hotel a couple blocs away, as this hotel was apparently full - despite my booking confirmation sent by email - much less charming hotel, however the room wasn't clean at all, old furnitures.. far away from my booking expectation!

Pleasant Hotel Set in Beautiful Garden
Pool, Friendly Staff
The staff here were excellent, very friendly and accomodating. The rooms are well cleaned, pleasant and value for money. The pool is very nice and it's only a short walk to the centre of Ubud. We found the the hotel fitted our requirements well, and was excellent value for money.

Nice place
the location
Good environment but needs to upgrade the wash room facilities. A bit too old and not too clean. Overall it's good stay.

Good location but don't expect more than that
Good access to anywhere in Uud
We had booked a supeior room with extra bed through Agoda. But the room was apparently small and not able to put extra bed and looked someone still staying. The bed hadn't made up and ashtray as well. After we complained, they led us to another bigger room which was next to the reception. There was literaly open-air bathroom. I recommend you to bring any mosquito repellent and Vape spray on your own because they won't provide you. Towels, you will see a lot of stains. Breakfast, you will have a fruit bowl and toast or omelet with no choice. Just go to Buddha cafe or other fancy rest in neighborhood if you don't like. It only takes 3 mins by walk from Matahari. It was good location wherever you explore in Ubud but don't expect more than that. I don't think I would stay in Matahari, again.

Fantastic staff, beautiful setting.
Nice staff, the rooms were clean, beautiful pool, great location.
The rooms were decently clean, close to a very busy close yet very quiet once you are in the hotel. The staff are really nice and friendly, it was very well located as well and conviently close to popular places like the Buddha Cafe and Radiantly Alive Yoga. The only thing i didnt enjoy much was the breakfast but i was happy to go out and have it elsewhere.
