Location, peacefulness, pools, food No Internet in the rooms. Have to pay for WiFi Internet access for own computer This is a really splendid hotel situated on one side of a river gorge. The main hotel is at the top and the spa area and pool are half way down. Over the river there are rice paddy fields. The water in the two pools feels very natural and is very refreshing. Both pools give the illusion of swimming in the middle of a forest. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. Although close to the outskirts of Ubud it takes 15-20 minutes to drive to the centre due to the roads and traffic. This hotel is really special, although possibly not suited to young children.
Hotel Feature Tip : Not suitable for people with difficulty walking up/down stairs.

Maya Ubud is simply stunning in every way. Maya is a short drive through the beautifully lush surrounds of Ubud. The entrance is grand and secure; speaking volumes of the quality to come. We were greeted by smiling relaxed staff, a delicious welcome drink and a room upgrade to the top floor (of 3) on the river side. A wonderful view of both the heavily vegitated river bank and the performance courtyard. Each day (3)we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast then a swim in the pool, reading, meeting like minded people and afternoon refreshments. We dined once in Ubud which was less touristed than the southern parts of Bali and again the food was both satisfying and affordable. Take advantage of the spa offer with a meal here; the walk itself along the rock cutaway paths will prepare you well for a great massage. I can't compliment Maya enough. Whether it's something special or a honeymoon this is an absolutely beatutiful resort hotel with all the trimmings!

very beautiful, fantastic views so quiet that you almost feel uncomfortable if you make any noice.prices for meals/bar, day spa etc. very expensive. maya is a very beautiful place with fantastic views locatied just a few minutes form ubud.there are lots of extra activities to do but they arll very expensive considering what you pay to stay there. great if you want a very quiet place to stay, though not a family friendly place.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : there are plenty of activities like cooking classes that you can find for much cheaper in town if you have a look around rather than paying the high prices at the resort.

We really felt like we were in a sanctuary with all the perfect elements of nature around Staff are kind and helpful, but still possible to improve I visit with my wife and two sons, 11&8 yrs. We follow several activity like Yoga, sunset village trekking and rafting, all of which give us very good memories and happiness. The best thing of this hotel is how it blends nature in its design, so that we got what we expected to come to Ubud. We really like the stay and will put it in our list of next visit.
Restaurant Tip : We went to Cafe Wayan at Ubud City for dinner. And found a very good food with reasonable price and excellent service

The rooms are large and surrounded by forests, beautiful pool with canopy bed Breakfast is not much more. Wide! nature walk the walk takes 30 minutes or more. You can enjoy the tropical plants. Made from a pool that overlooks the forest, is exquisite. It is not able to walk from the hotel to Ubud, takes time. There is also a pitch-black night.
