Old buildings
Not very clean
Not good breakfast Many buildings "put together" to make one large hotel. Hodge-podge. Not conducive to a quiet, restful feeling. It was not upkept. Very dusty on the outside all over. The breakfast was not that good. Omelettes did not even have a choice of cheese. Toast was pre-made and cold by the time you took it. Staff were ok. I would not stay there with my family for a vacation. I would stay there overnight for myself if just needing a room to sleep. Beach was a long way around. So we felt it was false advertising to say "Beach bungalows"
Shopping Tip : Kartika Plaza Shopping center is on one side of the hotel, 100 meters. Matahari Shopping center is on the other side about 500 meters

Where we were staying is new wing, so that the room is quite new and clean.
Room is big and buffet breakfast is good.
Generally the only things that i not satisfy is the bath water is very slow. Is quite far to walk from hotel to poppies lane I,II and Jln Legian. If you prefer to hanging around there, Melasti beach bungalows is not your choice.But the hotel is quite near to Discovery mall and Matahari Square. Just 5 minutes walk to Kuta beach
Hotel Feature Tip : If you prefer a new renovate room, ask for new wing superior or duluxe room.

Location is its the best asset, located where the "action", as well nearby beach, shopping areas, restaurants and entertainments. The staff are nice and friendly. Hotel condition has rundown The Melasti hotel stay in my review is good. Located in "action" area, probably not the best for people looking for serenity and full rest. The hotel condition is a bit rundown, but could be improved with a little extra effort: keeping the amenity in good condition: shower, Ac, TV etc., having pool attendant etc. Overall I say its a good stay, worth the money.

Convenvenient location in the center and next to beach, balinese style rooms and decoration. Rooms standardm can be improved, such as the cracked wooden furniture. The loudiness in the bar Overall, satified with the stays in Melasti with the money that have paid for; you got what you paid. For sure, would rather pay for slightly higher to have better comfortability and cozy hotel to come back in future.

Location, easy to get around Very dated, Many levels of entry, up and down little steps as soon as you enter room and bathroom, accident waiting to happen. Very dated, tacky, no towels in room, aircon not working, something leaking in bathroom. Nice loud karoke at front!! We decided to finish our stay in Bali by coming to a reasonably priced hotel to leave for the airport at 10.30 pm. There were three of us and only wanted a place for our luggage and somewhere to have a shower before leaving for airport, and this did fit the bill. But asked a couple of times for three towels, one lot of two came up and then had to ask for one more, communication was a bit hard. Not the best of layout, poor boy lugging three suitcases made us feel bad. There seems to be a lot of stairs and tack ons. The room was very hot, two steps into room then followed by another into bathroom, quiet dangerous, all of us nearly had an accident. Staff were polite, and did offer us a drink when we checked in. Location is very good, close to most things. But a bit all over the place with set out and architecture of place. Karoke at front would have been a problem if had stayed longer. It was adequate for our needs. Wish there was a short term place for travellers with late flights in Bali close to everything, where you could store luggage and refresh yourself before flying out. Could be a very good market, just paying for what you need for that time.

Friendly, helpful staff.
Good meals.
Great location Easier access to the beach would help. A friendly, clean well-run hotel. Great for the family. Helpful staff, especially at Reception.
Quick, no-fuss check-in. Location great as between the big shopping malls and 5 min walk from Waterbom Park. Good security.
Shopping Tip : For repair materials for bags, shoes etc the Hardware shop on the 3rd Level of Centro shopping mall has all you need.

Pool clean and convenient. A set of steps to the beach from the back gate would help. A great place if you want value for money, quiet and friendly.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Visit Waterbom Park before you go. Get a charge bracelet, load with R500000, you get a refund on what you don't use, so only take what you need. The kids can wear their bathers to walk from the hotel. It is very close. Get a locker for shoes etc when there.

the restaurant n location the room and excess to the beach It was a wonderfull experience in Kuta, Being located in the centre of the town made this hotel a good place for young couples. As for the food, brothers and sisiter, dont touch the chicken, beef or mutton when you are in Bali as 80% is Hindus so they dont practise the Halal way to cut the animals, from freinds i meet at Melasti all of them enjoy the foods. Hotel room is too ugly for me wer i think they can provide better looking rooms, the area inside the hotel is beautiful, so Melasti "do something about your room willya", hotel staff very polite others are all good.

Good service, nice location, vice staff, charming place. A little worn down, some needs og maintenence. At my arrival the 4th. august 2009, my room wich actually was a standard room,I was upgraded to a superiour room. And this room was spacy,nice,quiet,and clean.
The service of the staff was allways very good,they were frendly and helpful.
The breakfastbuffèt was very good, and everything worked out fine for me during all the three weeks I stayed there.Absolutelt recommandable,and my choice if I come back to Bali-Kuta next time.
Shopping Tip : Very close to most shops in central Kuta.
And allways easy to find back because of the location, in a Kuta wich can be confusing some times.

Great location, friendly staff, clean room, HUGE bed! breakfast could use some work I was a little worried about the hotel as it had received mixed reviews however the hotel was great. The two pools were a nice way to refresh after the beach and the room was spacious and clean. All the staff were friendly and smiley, especially "ping pong guy," the guy on staff that played ping pong with us and was from that point on our friend. Everyone was genuinely nice and helpful. I forgot something in my room when we checked out and they had it back to me before our flight a few hours later. I would definitely stay here again. The breakfast could use some work, but it was included in the rate so we just skipped it a few times.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you are surfing, don't rent on the beach. Find the shop called "Kuta Board Room" a few blocks away, the price for a day will be 1/4 of what you will pay on the beach for a 2 hour rental! Better boards too.

the hotel was a short walk to the beach, the breakfast was very good, the staff were all helpful and nice and the actual location was a good one
our room was very dark, the bathroom needs an upgrade rather quickly we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, the resort is very close to Melasti Street with lots of restaurants to choose from. Kuta Square is approximately 10-15 minutes taxi ride; easy to get taxis/bemo's etc. The beach is a great and interesting short walk through little lanes. The downside to our stay was the hotel room was quite dark inside and did not have a security box. Also the lock to the rooms was a padlock. All in all, it was a good stay.
Travel tip : The massages were great, 50,000 rupias for a 1 hour massage is a good price and the white water rafting is a must, barter down for all sight seeing with street vendors rather than through the hotels.
