The road you see on the map between resort and sea - is a pedestrian's street. So, don't worry. ;)

• Travel tip : It's expensive to use Internet and change money in the resort. But they have good "Corner bar" with live music and nice cocktails. Also, there are a very nice place - "Kuta food court". Good and cheap food, including live sea monsters. It situated near to the beach, 1-1.5 km from the resort, in direction of Kuta.

Great range of things to do at this hotel. We had age groups from 8 to 79 and had great 13 nights.

• Restaurant Tip : Had some great little restuarants in walking distance.

Melasti Beach Resort - Legian Guest Rating: 3.7

Overall, the Melasti Resort offers good value for money for the traveller that wants resort style accommodation but not 4 or 5 star. It has a Balinese feel to it. The resort is certainly not of the same standard as say the Padma but neither is the price. For travellers that do not want resort style accommodation there are also many other places to stay in Bali with acceptable rooms at very cheap prices.

• Travel tip : The Bali experience can greatly depend on whether you only see high-density tourist areas or adventure out to other areas. The Kuta/Legian area is good to visit but can wear you down if you get caught up in shopping etc. Can be good to try a few days there at beginning and end - but also get to stay at quieter places like Candidasa, Padangbai, Ubud, Lake Batur, Lovina, Nusa Lembongan. It is also only a 3 hour ferry trip or short flight to Lombok - or other islands.

Good location and has good views and access to surf. suggest you go for sunset drinks up the beach at Kuta. Beverages start at 5,000Rp but be prepared to be swarmed by local sellers !

• Shopping Tip : Sunest drinks - Look for the bar that is own by Bang Bang & Wayan

The location was very good - far enough away from Kuta to avoid the party scene but close enough to walk along the seafront to shopping and restaurants.

• Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Ask for "Norman" as your driver for any sightseeing. He was friendly and helpful, and helped advise on avoiding scams, such as the money exchange tricks one may encounter.
