Gorgeous private beach with very good infrastructure to support it, such as hammocks, mini huts, etc. Excellent spa facility and service. Pretty good room decoration.

Service is generally poor. Complimentary breakfast is terrible. The bathroom size is too small, particularly its bathtub. Dinner buffet is only acceptable in terms of quality although it is not cheap.

Overall, I believe that Melia Bali is not a bad choice considering its price, but I think there is much room for improvement given the fact that it is a top star hotel (4 or 5 star). Melia Bali does have a couple of strong points, and they are: (1) Its private beach - it is gorgeous and it is supported with very good infrastructure..we enjoyed lying on the mini hut right by the beach! (2) The spa facility is excellent. We had a couple of spa treatments there and are very pleased. (3) The room has a pretty good decoration - it is very Balinese, and is very pretty. However, there are a number of key areas which need improvement in Melia Bali: (1) Service is generally poor, and we had a higher expectation of service quality given the hotel's pricing and star-rating, (2) Its complimentary breakfast is terrible, and certainly left much to be desired, (3) The bathroom size is too small, particularly its bathtub, and (4) Dinner buffet is only acceptable in terms of quality although it is not cheap, and this is accompanied with poor service as well.

Hotel Feature Tip : The spa and private beach at Melia Bali is great - must check-out.

- the staff of the hotel have a great smile, always ready to accommodate for any request. - very quiet for those who want to have some peace in their rooms. - it is a big place and one can spend the entire day in the hotel and not get bored the beach is clean.

- the beach has weeds but the water is clean.

we stayed there for 5 nights and loved the place specially the way the hotel is designed , the breakfast is elaborate and have variety. In the evening there are two girls who dance to Balinese tunes its very good. Overall we enjoyed our stay. It is a perfect place for those who want to be away from the maddening city life.

Very beautiful 5 different restaurants Very nice swimming pool Beautiful lobby Very nice lay out

Elevators are old and not working properly Aircon in the room we had was not able to coop wiht the moisture level in the room, which caused a smell in the room We went to 3 buffet diners, the variation was not what one would expect from the level op hotel

Meliabali hotel is located in the resort of Nusa Dua. Environment is very beautiful, entering the resort area and hotel the security level at first is a little bit scary but after talking with some of the local people it is very well understandable. To get around you need a car and the rental car service of the hotel is OK and reasonably priced. Although the hotel is more then 25 years old it looks still very nice and is build to last only the technical equipment like elevators and aircons are in need of refurbishment. Overall a very nice experience and worth while to get repeated.

Hotel Feature Tip : Very beautiful garden, to wander around and relax.

The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. The tour agency in the hotel were very helpful and arranged day trips to your own spec. Awide range of places to eat within the hotel. Breakfast was excellent with a full range of options.

The currency in the hotel shops and restaurants was not consistent. Menus and price lists varied between 3 different currencies. Limited evening entertainment in the hotel.

The hotel was lovely and everyone was extremely friendly. In all it was difficult to find much to fault the hotel on. There are some lovely personal touches such as fresh flowers in the rooms. There was only one evening event each night at the hotel which tended to be a themed meal with a traditional balinese dance. The hotel is within walking distance of a local market, and there is an excellent tour agency on site. You can arrange to have a personal driver who will allow you to tailor your tour throughout the day.

Shopping Tip : Be prepared to barter!

very friendly staff . god service ,excellent grounds , near local eating places .

None

From the minute of arriving the staff made you welcome , fast efficient check in , good room location , all very clean , and maintained to high standard daily .Pool area is very good with ample sun beds and lots of shade if you require it , located right on the beach , with a good paved walkway along side , many beach sellers , but all friendly and not pushy so no problem with haggling the price .This Hotel is a Good choice if you want to stay within the hotel for eating and drinking , but within a ten minute walk , a large open air shopping mall with many varied eating area's , at reasonable cost .

Restaurant Tip : Many local eating places within a short walk , good price and standard of food .

If you want go to Bali and relax, go to Melia. All the people there are always happy and work to make your stay better and better. The rooms are very confortable, the gardens are beautiful and all the services work.

Perhaps, the hotel could offer the internet access, because you have to pay.

It was a wonderful experience. If you think Bali as a good place to a honeymoon or just to relax and forget all the problems, go to Melia. In the Nusa Dua Beach, is the best hotel and the best price.

Position on beach at Nusa Dua, friendly staff, comfy rooms

Everything was wonderful except the $3USD for a bucket of ice, an ice machine would be an advantage - only gripe everything else was great

This was our third stay at the Melia Nusa Dua and once again we enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. We had some family members with us this time and they also enjoyed the position of the hotel and close proximity to the shopping and the beach. The grounds are lovely and the activities cater to most or you can do your own thing and relax. We have stayed at most of the other hotels in the area and ove all like the Melia the best.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The taxis at the front bell desk are expensive we find it best to walk out of the grounds and do a deal ourselves for taxis, but restaurants aren't very far to walk to anyway.

garden, fishpond, dan swimming pool. they all make a great harmony.

If you want to see the real resort, here it is...

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : a wonderful panorama at the beach side on the evening and morning for have some tea or coffee

location near airport - on beach - set in beautiful tropical gardens - full-menu spa - wide variety of sports & recreation - spacious & comfortable rooms (particularly the superior rooms & suites) - international clientele

although dining options are abundant & cater to every taste, some of them are a bit pricey

There is virtually nothing not to like about this property. The setting and location are both ideal. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. You may take advantage of the full-menu spa or participate in any of dozens of sports and recreation activities ranging from tennis to cultural performances. While some of the many dining options may be a bit pricey, you may obtain a 25% discount if you pre-pay food-and-beverage expenses at the Guest Relations desk - or you may take advantage of happy hours. At the same time, take note that the tour desk will be happy to help arrange anything from a sunset cruise to an expedition to exotic temples. You are certain to have a grand time!

Shopping Tip : at least a couple shopping malls are located nearby - because the distnace may be too considerable to walk (especially on a hot day), hotel staff will be happy to arrange transportation

Good infrastructure

Bad service in el Patio restaurant

We had a very bad experience with the hotel. My daughter took a jacuzzi at the hotel spa and the motor of the jacuzzi caught her hair, she almost drowned. Nobody at the hotel apologized. The hotel has nice swimming pools and good service except at el patio restaurant where all is very slow.

Restaurant Tip : Lunch in the hotel is expensive, you could eat cheap and better in the mall Bali collection

Nothing in particular - save for the wide breakfast spread!

The pool needs to be thoroughly cleaned...

We stayed in this hotel in July 2008. The hotel is relatively big and there is ample activities for all age groups. We were initially concerned about the musty smell in the rooms. However on arrival, the smell was not as apparent, as described in some of the reviews. However I must acknowledge that the rooms which we stayed were damp - but bearable! The best part of the entire stay was the friendliness of the staff working at the hotel. The staff were ever ready to oblige any request made. The beach was a let down - the tide came up all the way to the edge of the hotel where the deck chairs were arranged.
