Full Balinese feeling,Clean,Nice....
Drainage system maybe, because you'll need to double flush. but this happen at Grand Hyatt as well.
I like the hotel from the moment i step into lobby for check in till now..I still like it.Friendly staff that they explain carefully to you during check in.The room is so comfy, clean and I really like the balcony. The beautifully landscape with a quite library.I actually saw a staff drawing some balinese art on the sand floor bu just using a stick.Nice breakfast food with lots of variety.(even better than hyatt).1 night is just not enough. Will go back for sure!
Shopping Tip : Do your shopping at Ubud or Kuta. Nothing to shop there.Just enjoy Melia hotel and the beach..

- Clean and well kept rooms.
- Tight security at the entry gate.
- Good food and some variety of restaurants.
- Excellent breakfast buffet.
- Nice facilities: Spa, Pool, Landscaping, and Lobby.
- Air Conditioning in the room, could have been a bit cooler.
- Service in the restaurants was not efficient.
Our family had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay at the Melia Bali. We were impressed with the hotel grounds and facilities. The hotel appeared quite full, however, we did not feel crowded or cramped. The only minor issue was with the air temperature in our room. We were always a little sweaty. We felt very safe in the hotel compound, as well as everywhere in Nusa Dua. We enjoyed walking to the shopping center in the evenings.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : It it worth the time to hire a tour guide and car and sight see around the island. There were many cultural learning and interesting places to visit in Bali.

The staff here was amazingly friendly and helpful - the best hotel service I have ever received. They go above and beyond to make sure your vacation is perfect. Pool and resort area are beautiful. Also, the buffet breakfast is quite good.
Nusa Dua is a tourist destination only. If you stay in this area you will spend a lot of money and never see the real Bali. The beach was less than spectacular - Kuta beach is much better.
The Melia Bali is by far the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in, I had a wonderful nine days there, the service couldn't have been better, but I would probably not stay here again. Nothing against the Melia, but Nusa Dua is not my thing. If you want to spend a few days relaxing by the pool - go here. If you want to see Bali (which you really must because it is one of the most wonderful places on earth) stay elsewhere. The food here is decent, but overpriced for Bali - particularly the drinks. Also, the taxi prices are outragous. To save some money just walk to the main street (takes about 5 minutes or less) and you will save a fortune.
I must say the staff is amazing, and the property is beautiful - perhaps if I was older or had a family I would stay here. Very family friendly - great activities for kids. And you must get a massage - a little pricy, but well worth it - I am a massagaholic and this was the best I have ever had!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Walk down to the beach and take a right around the bamboo fence at the furthest right hand corner - this is the locals beach (much nicer)where you can find a few food stalls (very good and cheap) and good prices on Bintang (local beer - very good). Balinese people are the nicest people in the world, so don't isolate yourself with the tourists - you will be happy!

This hotel had beautifully designed, spacious rooms. The breakfast was phenomenal and the facilities such as the fitness centre were very modern. The hotel feels hidden from the hustle and bustle of Bali, but not to far to drive anywhere. Overall wonderful trip and would stay there again.
The restaurants in the hotel I think were overpriced and the food not quite up to standard.
Overall it was a fabulous place to stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and there were plenty of free activities to get involved in, such as water aerobics and stretching. The rooms were spacious, bright and modern. The location of the hotel was ideal as it was quite and secluded, however a short walk to the action. My only criticism of the Melia would be that the food in the restaurants was overpriced and not up to the standard it should be. Furthermore the menus required more variety. I would recommend anyone to stay at the Melia Bali and I will most certainly be back in the future.

Everything. Breakfast was great and you get some variety but of course you change up what you eat every morning. Beautiful gardens, better than Grand Hyatt and The Westin.
About 20 mins and $15-20 aus away from Kuta.
Nothing is Nusa Dua is walking distance, there are some restaraunts near by but its about 30 minutes walk from all the hotels.
Excellent stay and i reccommend this hotel to anyone. We stayed 5 nights and wanted to stay longer.
Nothing at all to complain about. No one haggles you much on the beach, very quite and secluded location for the perfect getaway.

The hotel is fine, room was satisfactory (a little small for the price). This is a typical crowded beach hotel. The hotel is absolutely massive..4 buildings of 4 floors each. The pool areas and beach is completely packed all the time.
The hotel is really crowded and feels like an airport terminal in the main lobby with large tour groups coming and going. The beach and pool was completely full the entire time..it was hard to even walk on the beach it was so crowded.
The room was perfectly find but our entire stay was ruined by absolutely horrible service. We checked in and they told us we were upgraded to a private suite..which sounds great, right? It was a nightmare. They then tried to sell us non-stop into upgrading into that suite for the whole stay. They also promised that our transition to the room we reserved (the second day) would be seamless. However, we ended up having to wait over 2 hours in the lobby to switch rooms! They even refused to give us water while we had to wait two hours. It got even worst. We went to check out of the hotel at 3 AM to leave...AND THEY REFUSED TO ALLOW US TO CHECK OUT. REFUSED!!! They said their computer system was down and they were 100% unwilling to let us check out. I have never seen people less helpful than at this place. I could not wait to leave and I will never, never go back. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Travel tip : Absolutely Horrible Service...STAY AWAY and go to a different hotel.

very friendly and helpful staff.Excellent facilities and calming decor.
very little Balinese/Asian cuisine, a spanish Tapas Bar at the poolside!! No proper tour desk for non-russian or non-japanese guests. We were asked to speak to the Concierge and fix a taxi.
Having been to the Melia Bali in June 2007, we were really looking forward to the holiday. We even got family from India and The USA to join us. We were extremely dissapointed with the food. There was hardly any Indonesian food on the menu. The Hotel experience was more Spanish than Balinese tis time.
As stated earlier, this was the first time we have stayed in an international hotel that does not have a tour desk for other nationalities. There were about 5-6 tour desks catering to Russian/East European guests and a Japanese guest relations desk.
To arrange our tour, we were guided to the concierge desk at the drive way. Here, amid the bustle of people arriving and leaving with luggage, we had to stand and deal with the divided attention from the staff, drivers and porters. Everyone gave their input and the rates were so varied. We did very little sight seeing and that too too because we had been to Bali earlier. The hotel was of no help at all.
Restaurant Tip : A restaurant called Bambu Bali...Absolute must for a great Balinese experience

Gorgeous private beach with very good infrastructure to support it, such as hammocks, mini huts, etc.
Excellent spa facility and service.
Pretty good room decoration.
Service is generally poor.
Complimentary breakfast is terrible.
The bathroom size is too small, particularly its bathtub.
Dinner buffet is only acceptable in terms of quality although it is not cheap.
Overall, I believe that Melia Bali is not a bad choice considering its price, but I think there is much room for improvement given the fact that it is a top star hotel (4 or 5 star).
Melia Bali does have a couple of strong points, and they are: (1) Its private beach - it is gorgeous and it is supported with very good infrastructure..we enjoyed lying on the mini hut right by the beach! (2) The spa facility is excellent. We had a couple of spa treatments there and are very pleased. (3) The room has a pretty good decoration - it is very Balinese, and is very pretty.
However, there are a number of key areas which need improvement in Melia Bali: (1) Service is generally poor, and we had a higher expectation of service quality given the hotel's pricing and star-rating, (2) Its complimentary breakfast is terrible, and certainly left much to be desired, (3) The bathroom size is too small, particularly its bathtub, and (4) Dinner buffet is only acceptable in terms of quality although it is not cheap, and this is accompanied with poor service as well.
Hotel Feature Tip : The spa and private beach at Melia Bali is great - must check-out.

- the staff of the hotel have a great smile, always ready to accommodate for any request.
- very quiet for those who want to have some peace in their rooms.
- it is a big place and one can spend the entire day in the hotel and not get bored the beach is clean.
- the beach has weeds but the water is clean.
we stayed there for 5 nights and loved the place specially the way the hotel is designed , the breakfast is elaborate and have variety. In the evening there are two girls who dance to Balinese tunes its very good. Overall we enjoyed our stay. It is a perfect place for those who want to be away from the maddening city life.

Very beautiful
5 different restaurants
Very nice swimming pool
Beautiful lobby
Very nice lay out
Elevators are old and not working properly
Aircon in the room we had was not able to coop wiht the moisture level in the room, which caused a smell in the room
We went to 3 buffet diners, the variation was not what one would expect from the level op hotel
Meliabali hotel is located in the resort of Nusa Dua. Environment is very beautiful, entering the resort area and hotel the security level at first is a little bit scary but after talking with some of the local people it is very well understandable. To get around you need a car and the rental car service of the hotel is OK and reasonably priced. Although the hotel is more then 25 years old it looks still very nice and is build to last only the technical equipment like elevators and aircons are in need of refurbishment. Overall a very nice experience and worth while to get repeated.
Hotel Feature Tip : Very beautiful garden, to wander around and relax.

The staff were friendly and the service was excellent.
The tour agency in the hotel were very helpful and arranged day trips to your own spec.
Awide range of places to eat within the hotel. Breakfast was excellent with a full range of options.
The currency in the hotel shops and restaurants was not consistent. Menus and price lists varied between 3 different currencies.
Limited evening entertainment in the hotel.
The hotel was lovely and everyone was extremely friendly. In all it was difficult to find much to fault the hotel on. There are some lovely personal touches such as fresh flowers in the rooms. There was only one evening event each night at the hotel which tended to be a themed meal with a traditional balinese dance.
The hotel is within walking distance of a local market, and there is an excellent tour agency on site. You can arrange to have a personal driver who will allow you to tailor your tour throughout the day.
Shopping Tip : Be prepared to barter!

very friendly staff . god service ,excellent grounds , near local eating places .
From the minute of arriving the staff made you welcome , fast efficient check in , good room location , all very clean , and maintained to high standard daily .Pool area is very good with ample sun beds and lots of shade if you require it , located right on the beach , with a good paved walkway along side , many beach sellers , but all friendly and not pushy so no problem with haggling the price .This Hotel is a Good choice if you want to stay within the hotel for eating and drinking , but within a ten minute walk , a large open air shopping mall with many varied eating area's , at reasonable cost .
Restaurant Tip : Many local eating places within a short walk , good price and standard of food .
