Melia Benoa Hotel Bali

Have stayed at other Melia hotels in other parts of the world. We thought that these other hotels were good value and that is why we tried the Melia Benoa. Hoever I do not think we would return here as we can pay this sort of money in Legian or Seminyak and have the option of going outside the hotel for other things such as good restaurants and good internet access - see ratings below.

Hotel has slightly dated style, probably suits middle-aged travellers. Generally service good, staff friendly and helpful, but this is a requisite for all hotels.

Balinese New Year at Melia BenoaGuest Rating: 2.7

We have stayed at the Melia Benoa this March from the 1st till the 11th. We have been in this hotel before for two weeks in 2004. The quality standards of the hotel have come down considerably. We learned that the hotel has been sold and is no longer the property of Sol Melia. The new owner doesn't seem to invest enough capital to keep the Melia standards up. You see and feel this all the time. We came back to Melia Benoa because of the excellent food and service we got four years ago. We were very disappointed to see that the standards have down over the whole line. The hotel management should do something about this, if not the hotel will loose its attraction as "all in hotel" in Bali.

• Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The ceremonies around and in the hotel which are part of the Balinese New Year (Nyepi day) are beautiful and worth attending.
