the gardens especially the lagoon, the swimming pool/swim up bar, interior decoration & the view from the balcony overlooking the lagoon.the entertainment was great & the buffet breakfast was exceptional.I should also mention that the service was brilliant.

price of drinks at the bars (we were not all inclusive)

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Melia Benoa. The service was excellent and all the staff were pleasant & polite & always willing to help if required. The room we stayed in was great & always clean & well appointed. We enjoyed the pool & beach areas which as we were there for a relaxing holiday was a major bonus. The only complaint i would have is that the all inclusive offer was not really mentioned to us when we made our booking. As there is not a lot of alternative places to eat/drink in the area if staying at the Melia again we would definately consider going all inclusive.

Hotel Feature Tip : pick an all inclusive package

The deluxe room was huge and had a nice layout and design. Having two bathrooms was great too. The beach and pool were great and generally getting things done was easy. There was a Circle K convenience store across the road.

The hotel is too far away from things... you need a taxi to go everywhere. Probably a good place to stay if you don't intend to leave the hotel much. The free water they gave us had a funny taste. We didn't drink it.

It was a nice hotel but I probably wouldn't stay here again. Being next to the beach is great but I think it's good to be able to wander out of your hotel and look around. Apart from the beach, there is nothing within a 15-20 minute walk of the Melia Benoa.

Good, could have been better. Guest Rating: 6.3

The resort has everything it takes, 4 restaurants, a live cultural show, spacious rooms, good service et al. It also has a nice pool and water sports activities.

Not very pram or wheel chair friendly. no lifts. The suite is huge but stairs are wide and uneven. there is a kitchen but no means to cook. many of the power points don't work. If these small things are taken care it can be a very cozy place to stay. the breakfast buffet menu is the same everyday. and there is a very small Indonesian menu at the a-la-carte restaurant. not a very intelligently designed place.

We had booked 2 deluxe rooms but were upgraded to a suite without much asking. the suite is huge and has most of the amenities. but has enough furniture yet seems very empty. there are mosquitoes and occasional lizard appearances. the air conditioner was not very smooth. very hot at a particular temperature and if you reduce even by a degree, it became too cold. the service was prompt mostly. water bottles are free if provided at room. but we were charged for same water bottles when provided at the restaurant. the shops at the restaurant are costly - as expected. we wanted to hire a car to go around on the first day. the concierge wanted to push for a 7 seater car standing at the doorsteps which was a bit costly. when asked for a sedan, she kept saying its not available. we then had to refer to the brochures we picked up at the airport and hire a car from outside. the chefs were accommodative and modified the dishes a bit to suit my toddlers tastes. we were given hot milk and French toasts which were not in the buffet breakfast menu. it was overall a good experience but if small things are taken care of, it could become a memorable experience.

The environment is great for relaxation as well a total get away from city

The bath tub is a rather old and yellowish

For honeymoon and total get away from the city..Melia Benoa is a good choice. The food is nice and performance is organise well for the dinner session. Is a total different feel for those who would like to enjoy the beach with the love one..and also eat all you can when u feel like eating any time while in the pool or garden

Restaurant Tip : Some of the warung near the hotel serve good food :)

Nice beach, very big rooms, good food

Far from the airport or any of the main 'go-to' places in Bali. And everything is in American dollars -- which is ridiculously expensive for Asia!

We had a very nice stay at the Melia Benoa. The staff is very friendly, and the resort is nice and quiet. The down side is that it took a long time to travel to other areas in Bali like Ubud and Kuta. A cab ride would cost about US$25 which is very expensive for Asia. Bali is nice, but it didn't blow me away. Beaches in Malaysia and Thailand are way nicer. But if you're looking for a place to just get away and relax and money isn't an issue, then this is a good resort to be in. They also have a bunch of activities you can take part in and a nice pool. One thing about the beach though -- their area for swimming in the water is super small... and you can only go waist deep at the deepest, so that kind of sucks.

Restaurant Tip : Must try the Dirty Duck in Ubud. It's a little far away from the hotel but it is AMAZING!

Room was spacious breakfast was excellent

bathroom floor was dangerously slippery when wet

Staying here was a wholly enjoyable experience. Room was spacious and very well appointed, beds comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and served in a very pleasant setting. The beach was just outside the gate and quite clean but the swimming pool was more inviting and shady.

The overall ambience of the hotel. Love the natural landscape.

Water doesn't flow well in hotel room sink. Need to improve on breakfast variety.

It was my first time visiting Bali and I absoultely love the hotel. In fact the morning after I arrived home, I woke up wondering where I was as the memory of the hotel still lingers on. Overall the size of the hotel is just nice, not too big/posh/intimidating yet cozy enough. There is a beautiful pond in front of the cafe where we had our breakfast every morning. We could see birds, butterflies and bees. Very surreal! After breakfast we took a stroll down the beach. The view was absolutely stunning. We also recommend the restaurant next to the hotel, called Kendi Kuning. Price is reasonable.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There is a row of shops just next to the hotel, within walking distance, which sell a variety of sarongs, dresses, t-shirts and bermuda shorts.

Big rooms with good housekeeping, staff lovely, garden very beautiful, enough sunbeds on the beach

Nothing really.

Second visit at Melia Benoa thanks to a great rate with Agoda and the hotel was as good as on our previous visit. Upon check-in got very disappointed as only market-side rooms were available, but the room turned out to be huge with big panorama windows and big balcony - very private and enjoyable! The staff are lovely and the garden, although small, so beautiful. Moreover, we liked the guest mix very much: Asian and European with a number of nationalities that made the hotel truly international.

Melie Benoa has ideal location, peaceful and serene. The beach is absolutely nice. I can just lie at the beach, feel the wind blow over my face, watch the sea for whole day without doing anything else. The staff was very helpful. Respond very fast to my queries and always understanding and polite. The food was wonderful. Thousands of choices and all are very tasty. Love the fresh fruits and juice. It would definately be my first choice if I go back to Bali

Nice ambience and wonderful breakfast.

Air con is warm

Lovely hotel for the budget. Location is good and evening walks along the beach is nice. Staff are friendly. The only setback is the aircond which is warm. I really hope Melia would improve on the aircond as I would hope to visit Bali again.
