Bit expensive considering age of hotel- breakfast should have been included in price.
We were not happy with 1st room so Manager upgraded our room which was great.
Restaurant Tip:
Very good restaurants on the beach- had some great meals in Sanur. Bali Gardens in Kuta also has a great meal and can see sunset.

Perfectly situated. Rear of the resort eases right onto the beach, bordered by a path leading to locally owned shops and restaurants. Front of the resort leads onto busy streets hosting a miriad of shops of all descriptions, also banks,atms and money changers,bars,massage parlours and more. However, within the resort all is peace and quiet. Relaxation abounds, and the helpful, friendly staff do their very best to make sure you achieve and maintain this.

I travelled with a group of 5 girls - we all loved our stay at the Mercure. Check-in was friendly and fast, porter service was good, rooms were very nice, pools and beach were amazing, and while expensive by Bali standards, the restaurant served some delicious food and drinks.
Bike rentals are typically available, but were not available during our stay. There were many bike rental places near the hotel though, so this was not a problem. Laundry service was offered as well (but quite expensive - there are other areas nearby that will wash / dry your clothing by the kg rather than by the piece).
The hotel grounds are well labelled so that you don't get lost, and have a temple and tennis courts as well. The front desk staff arranged transport for us for anywhere we wanted to go, and were happy to make recommendations to us. It was the most relaxing part of our Bali adventure by far.
One tip for this hotel is to make sure you book online, as the rack rates offered at the front desk are between double and triple what you can book for on the internet.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
A day trip to Uluwatu is a must. You can leave your hotel at 3pm, drive to the cliffs to enjoy the scenery / wildlife (monkeys), and then stay for a traditional show during the sunset (excellent show including fire dancing).

All good except the buffet dinner. Food was cold at 8:30pm, staff standing around doubt nothing and you can see the chef in the office on the computer. Also the live station had chicken and beef raw, together in a bowl..... Hello!

We had reserved a double-bed room but in fact we got a twin-shared bed room. The room was quite small, and the bathroom was not cleaned well as I saw some stains on the wall and floor. When I complained to the front desk staff about twin-bed, she said that the hotel couldn't guarantee all reservations from agents. Besides, she said that only few superior rooms had a double-bed. The good thing, they upgraded our room to the deluxe room for the next day's stay. This deluxe room was much better in terms of size and cleanliness. Another good thing, hotel staff was nice and helpful.

a descent and affordable hotel

The stay was interesting. its in a good area. Sanur is the oldest part of bali. so if you are sick and tired of bali's clubs, this area is a good alternatif. Lots of good food in the area. The hotel is rather old and slightly poor manage. generally clean but need some improvement in some area. But again, its a great value.
